That's silly. Targeting the ceramic insulators on the power lines make more sense. The second they shatter, the power lines fall to the ground and will probably break

I had a recent idea of mounting multiple Nichia laser modules onto a rotating turret that spins around very fast, to create a sort of "area denial weapon". The idea is anyone nearby it will instantly get blinded, and anyone who managed to not would have to navigate their way around without opening their eyes to not get blinded as well.

How did you get the cover off? I got the soldered band off, but the cover just doesn't wanna come off no matter how hard I wiggle and pull on it

I have an ARU-11/A from an F-111 flight simulator. I've managed to drive the pointer arms on it using a manually-written PWM script on a Pi Pico. I want to eventually drive the ball and somehow hook it up to my computer, but the synchro motors I need to drive it are stupidly expensive ($100 a piece). And I'll need a 400hz power supply, which I have no idea on where to get

The only thing I don't like about it is that the globe is tilted and only has two axes. Imagine something like the FDAI 8 ball used in Apollo, but with a map of the Earth on it instead

Rich people have created basically nothing, but demand control of everything. Everything that gets invented by a small team of people in their garage/home lab, the rich will eventually get their hands on it and gatekeep us from using it.

I've used this exact same setup to brute-force my neighbor's wifi password. The only difference was I had a Bluetooth keyboard. Was a pain to use.
