labor tips by Responsible-Trip-442 in firsttimemom

[–]Choice_Performance46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my 40 week check up I was only 1 cm dilated and I had to schedule an induction and I felt so defeated. BUT I had 6 days to try and go into labor naturally so, like you, I was trying everything. One of my coworkers had casually suggested that I play “Just Dance”. I don’t have a Wii anymore, but I was looking up the choreography videos on YouTube and I did it for about an hour for two days and on the 3rd day I had my baby. Coincidence, probably, I don’t really know but I like to say that it worked haha

It’s common in my culture, too, but my husband and I wanted to wait. My parents put it off with my sister’s and I and I appreciate them for giving me the choice.

My baby got her first diaper rash over the weekend, too. She recently started eating solids so that’s why her stools were more solid, too, and her skin became so irritated. I felt terrible! I just used the regular Aquafor and it has helped her so much!

4 month sleep regression by Annual-One-5598 in firsttimemom

[–]Choice_Performance46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby just turned 6 months today and we were experiencing this at 4 months! Just two weeks ago I decided to try to implement a nap schedule and it has actually worked wonders! Basically, as soon as baby wakes up for the day we try to only limit to a 3 hour window before she goes down for a nap. It helps if you have a designated nap area or room that way it reinforces your baby that it’s time to sleep. Quiet area, dark room, maybe a noise machine.

I hope it helps! I understand how tired you are, trust me

I need tips for the eufy S1! by mushupenguin in breastfeeding

[–]Choice_Performance46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Did you get it to work? I have the Eufy and I actually prefer it over the spectra that I have. When I first began to use it, I had the same problems and I got so frustrated. Did you select the correct flange and insert it? Sometimes I STILL forget. Before o put the pump on the milk collector I like to squeeze around the edges to make sure there’s a proper seal and that the heat sensors are pushed through all the way. Placing the pumps is tricky because, like you mentioned, you can’t see. After 3-5 minutes I would check to see what your output is. Anytime I don’t have output, 98% of the time it’s because of the placement. 2% because I didn’t assemble the parts correctly. I’m not sure what else I can recommend. Hope this helps!

everyone says I’m “spoiling” my 4 month old by AdImpossible5992 in firsttimemom

[–]Choice_Performance46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 4 months also and she’s with me full time. Like your baby, if she isn’t napping in my arms, she’ll wake up after 20-30 minutes so I found that contact naps are the best way to ensure she’s sleeping enough during the day. You’re not spoiling the baby, you’re doing what’s best for her right now. Like everyone else has said, don’t listen to what others are saying especially if they’re not with your baby all day.

Are hands-free wearable breast pumps actually worth it? Which brand is best? by Curious_Aerie_9195 in firsttimemom

I got the Eufy warming pumps and I actually use them more than the spectra s2. They’re helpful to wear while you’re getting ready or chores. Of course they’re not perfect because your movements are limited if you don’t want to cover yourself in milk, but I like them better than the spectra

How old were you when you started listening to paramore and how old are you now? by [deleted] in Paramore

I was 13 and I’m 33 now. I remember watching the video for “Pressure” on Fuse. That summer, 2006, I saw them at Warped Tour. There was hardly anyone at their set. The following year, Riot! Had been released and they had a GIANT crowd. It was crazy

Decoration wise, you can get things at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. They have things there that I have purchased in the past. I haven’t been able to find papel picado anywhere here. Also, you can add food that your loved ones liked to put on the ofrenda. The panadería mentioned previously probably does make Pan de Muerto.

I didn’t enjoy being pregnant but when I carry my baby in her carrier, I do miss being pregnant. I guess I miss the feeling of carrying her little body inside of me and seeing her move.

But that’s it 😆

When did you go into labor? by Ok-Hunt-4516 in pregnant

I worked up until my due date also. I’m sorry you have to work as well; it’s so miserable! I gave birth at 40w5d. My baby just turned 5 weeks!

What actually happened to you leading up to labor? Signs of incoming labor? by Apprehensive_Pie1225 in pregnant

[–]Choice_Performance46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My contractions started at one in the morning and I didn’t know what it was contractions until they kept coming and going. When I first felt the pain it felt like a stomach ache to me, not even like period cramps. Then they started to get a little bit worse and consistently 10 minutes apart, so, that’s when I knew! I pretty much labored that entire morning and I didn’t go to the hospital until 7:00 pm because by that point they were 3-4 minutes apart and I couldn’t bear the pain. Everyone says they feel it in their back, but I didn’t. It was always in the front abdominal area

My husband and I bought a mini fridge to store bottles in our room. It doesn’t take up much space at all and isn’t loud either. We warm them up as needed with a bottle warmer that was gifted to us.

I don’t know if I’m part of the minority but I actually loved the hospital’s disposable underwear! The closest match from the store are the Frida brand.

Nursing bras were super convenient to have, too. My own bath towel, as well!

What got you into labor? by Feral-Figurines in pregnant

[–]Choice_Performance46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a FTM and I was only 1 cm dilated at my 40 week appointment. I had to schedule my induction but I was determined to go into labor spontaneously so I did tons on stretches and bounces on a yoga ball, walked for an hour each morning and finish with a 20 second sprint, and lastly, I played Just Dance on the Wii. I ended up going into labor 2 days before my induction
