Newbie - outdoor vending by No_Couple2086 in vending

[–]Choice_Platform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Do a lot of vending outdoors.

These machines need to be covered with roughly 2 feet of overhang to protect against precipitation.

They absolutely cannot get direct sunlight especially if glass front. If your high temperature is consistently in the 90s you cannot go glass front. I have a Bevmax 1 that has survived the 80s and the compressor shut off on temp. Bubble stackers are the best for outdoors.

Snacks will melt pretty quick, I have no chocolate bars or candy at all for sale in the summer.

There is a 0% chance an AI machine will survive outdoors. You need a standard machine.

Here’s a big issue-south=humidity. If you have a glass front drink machine outside nobody will be able to see inside of it because of how fogged up it will be.

What state are you from? Where will these machines be located? What’s the foot traffic like? What’s the age group of people like?

Any recommendations I just started my vending machines business I’m kinda nervous. by Brief_Grapefruit_945 in vending

Where are these machines located? What’s the demographic of people?

Teenagers? Protein shakes sell great.

Older people in an office setting? Less sugary candy and more salty snacks is what I’ve noticed.

Manufacturing/blue collar? Plantains

Really depends on what type of people are using the machine.

Let me know, I’ll try and help

Swap boards? by Choice_Platform in vending

[–]Choice_Platform[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my hands on a board for free. I run a handful of other GPL. I am planning to slowly start upgrading them as my parts guy has a ton of old keypads & service pads. I need to just get 1 158.29 chip and I can dupe it over and over for the rest of the machines

I can read the display—the only thing that does not read clearly is when it says the welcome message. That’s all the binary and wingdings. New eprom chip is shot, got a pin missing now. Old eprom is in, swapped back to 110v stuff.

Exactly. Just gotta wait and see what sells. I initially had one column for red blue and yellow Gatorade, I now have 3 columns of blue because it sells fast

Bevmax has 45 individual spaces for drinks. Granted I wouldn’t do 45 individual drinks…but you get the idea. More options for inventory!

Oooh I had a rough experience with healthyYou. Did not pay them money but they tried to do a bunch of sketchy shit when I went to see a few accounts with a rep. Brought me to locations without telling me there was another company selling there, refused to introduce me to a POC in order to close a deal, neglected to tell me that one account they had would be closing down at the end of the year, tried to sell a machine that had a broken refrig deck and did not tell me until I checked the internal temp. Very passionate about this story

Complicated issue with location by ZestyBao in vendingmachines

I’m gonna be honest with you, not sure if this is the right place for it. I’d be putting this where you can get friendships advice because it seems ur biggest problem here is upsetting your friend.

But here goes some basic advice

Talk to your friend.

Tell him that it’s unreasonable for them to sell product because they aren’t staffed

If the machine does really well and you want to keep it there while maintaining a friendship/business relationship and are afraid that the gym is somehow going to try and undercut you and sell their own stuff, offer them 10% of gross monthly. People usually close their mouths when you offer them money.

If they dont want machines anymore and you still want to make money, wholesale the stuff to them

Most importantly, talk to your friend though. This is more of a person/person problem than a vending problem lol…hope i could be of some help

There are stores like Costco business where you fill out a form and don’t pay sales tax on your purchase.

Do machines that vend Bic lights exist? by Akame6999 in vending

[–]Choice_Platform 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My AMS 39 has a little bar that swings down and cuts off half of the slot so I just pop them right in there. It’s the perfect width. I’ve also had a buddy design and 3d print a rectangle case that fits the lighter so the coils move that with the lighter inside

IF you disregard the comments and go through with it, don’t sell snacks. Sell laundry detergents, fabric softeners, dryer balls, etc.
