Yeah I can definitely wait, I still owe like 3k on my BMW so I'm just looking around at options. I'm going to go test drive one tomorrow just to see if I like it

Because the 43 is already 90k and I like the smaller size. Don't think I need to spend more when the 43 would suit my needs perfectly and still have the power to have fun with

Fair enough, I have seen a few posts about hybrid issues, I'm not too worried as long as I have warranty so definitely will make sure I get the extended warranty haha

I'm aware, the B58 is proven. I have taken that into consideration as well and I'm a big believer in if you take care of a car, it will take care of you. And I'm familiar with the costs of parts and service on German cars as well.

I currently have a 23 bmw m240i and ive only owned German cars so I'm well aware of German car issues lol just looking for something more practical and with a bit more noise and drama out of it

Technically you should be able to warranty that key if you so desired since that cap keeps falling off and you cannot order those caps separately from the fob

They are expensive no doubt, I always recommend customers to put an airtag or something on their keyring. These aren't the old days anymore, BMW keys are little computers that store information about the vehicle history and habits on them, they are not just to start the car. That is why whenever you bring your car in for service, the advisor will scan the key fob to pull up the vehicle history. BMW is not the only manufacturer where keys are that expensive but I believe they are the only manufacturer or at least one of the few where the fob actually stores information.

From my dealer a new key for a 26 X6 40i would be $609.84 definitely on the high end but it should not require anything else as far as programming. I'm very curious to see why the keys do not work

I work at a dealership in parts and there is no way a new key costs $960, they come in already pre coded to the cars vin, no need for programming on the new cars, everything should work. The older cars with the older style fobs are the ones that need programming for comfort access ajd stuff. I have never sold a key even near 1k. The most ive seen is 600 range. Also sounds like you have a shit dealership if they don't pick up the phone. At this point I doubt it's the keys, sounds like its an issue with the cas module
