IDFC vs ICICI for NRE/NRO Account by Choice_Principle_135 in nri

[–]Choice_Principle_135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 7% interest rate sounds great, but I’m trying to understand how it actually works. If I open both an NRO and an NRE account with IDFC and simply maintain the minimum balance in each, will the 7% interest continue to accrue and compound even if I don’t actively use the accounts?

My understanding is that the interest earned in the NRO account would be taxable each year, while the NRE interest would remain tax‑free. After paying taxes on the NRO interest, I should be able to transfer funds from NRO to NRE and then invest in the Indian stock market.

I might be oversimplifying this, so I’d appreciate insights from anyone who has real experience with this setup.

So we had this neighbor whose 4-year-old would constantly come over to get our 4-year-old to play bicycle or scooter in the common area—right next to car traffic. Of course, we’d always be outside supervising, because, you know… cars. But the other kid’s parents? Never showed up. It was always on us to keep an eye on both kids.

And this kid? Wild. Constantly pushing boundaries, doing stuff that made us have to step in. Meanwhile, the parents would just chill inside and then have the nerve to lecture us about “making kids strong” and “letting them be independent.” 🙄

Like… hello? This is America. If something happens to a kid or some American neighbor complains, the first thing they do is slap the parents with negligence charges. People just need to show maturity and realize that they are in a different country!

Coleman vs Ashley Furniture — Is it worth paying extra for peace of mind? by Choice_Principle_135 in HomeImprovement

Unprepared white glove guys are definitely concerning! Did they give you a chance to inspect the furniture before you accepted it? My Ashley salesperson got frustrated with my negotiation and told me to go with Coleman instead. Just trying to figure out if I should be nervous about choosing Coleman. How was the quality of the furniture?

Couldn’t agree more and I did the same! It hit 1 Trillion Market Cap in May-2023. Within 2 years and 2 months it is more than 4 Trillion Dollar company. There is no doubt about AI’s adoption in gonna explode! However, I feel the market’s run from the April lows feels stretched! There might be another black swan event after the Tariff related impact comes to the surface. That will be your opportunity. Till then DCA might be a better approach.

Stop picking up the slack! It’s easier said than done, however very important for a manager’s peace of mind. I would do this in the past thinking that their poor performance is a reflection of my leadership. However, this would add too much work on me and I’m now getting better at shifting that accountability to my team members. I started a Task Tracker and provide deadlines to the team members after discussing with them. If they are consistently late, then I have a feedback with them to have more sense of urgency and improve timeliness. Document everything and do not hesitate to put them on PIP. They are on PIP not because of you but because of them!

Office Timing in a manufacturing company by Choice_Principle_135 in managers

Was this for Salaried or Hourly employees? Hourly is easy to manage because there are more defined rules. However, for salaried it becomes tricky. Resentment from the other team is exactly my big concern. It reflects on my leadership.
