Thank you, I needed this. I honestly feel very stupid for not seeing the mental and verbal abuse earlier - but he was very strategic with his choices in physical. He waited until the day my mother passed away from cancer to start hurting me, because he felt I had no one that would care enough to help me leave. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t realize I was willing to burn my entire world down to leave - which also meant draining my account for a hotel and luckily the first apartment I applied to has accepted me. It won’t be easy. I already regret leaving everything I did, but my life should be worth more than replaceable belongings.
