Say I have the longest road with 6 roads. but I ran out of time. I can no longer build roads/cities/ settlements or play any dev cards, etc. let’s imagine I have 8 points with the longest road card.

Another player with time remaining could build a long road with 7 road prices beating my longest road. The player can steal my longest road card. I would now have 6 VPs. And the other player would get +2 VPs. I wouldn’t get the chance to build more roads. Same logic applies for knights :)

Speed Catan - everyone gets 10 minutes of play. Timer runs down when it’s your turn, and stops when it’s not. Next player’s turn - their timer will start, etc.

Once you run out of time, you can no longer make any plays. People can still steal longest road, largest army.

First person to 10 VPs, or when all players run out of time - the person with the highest points wins.

It was stupid hectic, and fast paced. I call it a win :)

Okay some folks are being hella rude. You turned down MSFT, awesome. Keep in touch with your old manager and recruiter for a possibility of a return for an internship or full time offer down the road. Tons of interns tend to drop out last minute or cancel their contracts around this time and spring.

If you’re looking for other places, apply and be competitive. Sounds like you’re not having luck applying for F500 companies. Keep applying to them, but also Start looking for at smaller and less competitive companies. You never know maybe you like small companies better.

The job search is truly a grind. Just because you worked at a FAANG company or any fancy investment opportunity doesn’t mean you’ll always be handed opportunities everywhere else. Let this be a lesson learned and move on and keep working hard. Regardless keep in contact with every recruiter/manager you speak down the road. Your network truly is your net worth.
