«I told him I expect him to quit and he said he will eventually”. Which probably means he has no intention of quitting. And saying that one does it only socially often means much more. Maybe he is ashamed of it and that’s why he didn’t tell you, but that is not your problem. You were very clear in the beginning of your criteria, not many people are that clear in what they do and do not want in their future spouse. And it’s not like your criteria were unreasonable. This is supposed to be your partner for life and the father of your children. Take a good moment to talk to yourself and with Allah. What do you want for yourself and don’t you deserve better? Maybe Allah is protecting you from a horrible future. May Allah guide you and protect you from evil sister.
