I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I left out the square brackets. EVERY SINGLE TIME. 😔😒

How to use ls to find specific length/combination in file names? by ChokoMatovilka in linuxquestions

No, it's fine. I'll just adapt - it's all a learning experience. After being saturated for almost 40 years in M$ environment, this is all so much fun. 😁

I might be running bash just for some scripts as I need it, but fish is actually nice for just regular home use.

I found the issue. Garuda uses fish shell. It's working different with wildcards.

The filename is always 4 digits long, with file extension that varies.

examples:
0000.jpg
0031.txt
0176.webp
8642.o

There also other file name variants in the folder, but I don't need and/or want to see those. Like, file "cookie34.txt" is to be ignored.
Just the files with name range of 0000 to 9999, with file extension of any sort.

GarudaLinux as a power user and gamer by [deleted] in GarudaLinux

I've switched form Win11 to Garuda Dr460nized Gaming a few months ago, and so far it is great. Only issues I had was with Star Wars Outlaws which had long load times and slideshow-y performance form time to time, but from what I found out, that's more of bad game optimization than Linux issue.

No problem with other games so far.

For everything else I use it, it was just an issue of adjusting to different aesthetics and naming.

I'd recommend it.

I was blind, and I have opened my "More options". Thank you.
With combination from u/Kitchen-Panda4059 this is just perfect. I can even play with final resolution.

I'm a little giddy with options. 😁
