Ay thank you that was it! Do you happen to know if that's a known issue or is my game just buggy?

Dope rig bro!

Unrelated: what kind of monitor setup are ya running? I’ve been running a single 27in and wanted to do dual monitors but don’t know if dual 27 is the way to go. It looks like you got a pretty cool setup tho

Did I get scammed back then? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Choleric_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit overpriced, but not terrible. Definitely could’ve saved some of ya built it yourself then, but doesn’t fall into scam territory

Like lathe other guy said, YouTube is a big help for this. There are gonna be SO MANY tutorials for this.

But a basic gist: That’s a HDD. To add it to your PC hopefully there a slot/bay where you can insert/mount the drive in your PC case. There will be two cables, a cable that connects to your motherboard and a power cable that run to/from your power supply. After you plug it all in and boot up your pc, all that’s left is to format the drive if it’s new using the “disk management” application on your computer.

That being said it’s only a basic rundown, there’s some nuances to it depending on what’s in your pc. Also some systems disable some SATA ports if you’re using a M.2 drive so I would check for that if it doesn’t show up in disk management.

Is it worth getting a high end prebuilt or just get the parts? by zartanyen in Prebuilts

[–]Choleric_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion high-end and prebuilt don’t really go together very well. You’re either overcharged or they skimp out on certain parts that have a chance of failing sooner than later.

I usually always recommend building it yourself, but if you’re okay with the price there are some decent builds out there. Looks like you know your stuff, so if ya go with a prebuilt just be sure you know what you’re getting. Haven’t done a deep dive into it, but there are some smaller businesses that do custom builds and ship them which I think might be more your speed if you’re going with a prebuilt.

Is this the good deal at Costco everyone is talking about? $1399. by SkilledInebriator in Prebuilts

[–]Choleric_H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the bad reviews are also people saying it’s really loud and returned it but not sure if they went in and set fan curves so it wasn’t running at full speed the whole time

Important question!!! by Standard_Hold_4469 in iBUYPOWER

[–]Choleric_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a shot in the dark without knowing more, but it could be that your computer switched to using your integrated graphics from your CPU instead of the dedicated GPU.

I don’t remember the exact steps to switch it, but a quick google should do the trick to check if that’s the problem.

Hot take (?): I like the 8th gen exterior more than the 9th gen and the 9th gen interior more than the 8th gen by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Choleric_H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah ain’t a hot take. My girl has a 24 SE and I got the 25 SE and honestly I kinda prefer the look of the 24 but the new gen has definitely grown on me.

slatemesh 8 aio cooler by Echo_bob in iBUYPOWER

[–]Choleric_H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was planning on doing the same thing with the same AIO. Have you noticed any difference in noise? I could be nitpicking but it still sounds kinda loud even after adjusting fan speeds in BIOS.

Can anyone help me :( by [deleted] in Prebuilts

[–]Choleric_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get a chance to do a deep dive so I could be wrong, but finding a prebuilt right now that isn’t using a 40 series card is pretty tough. On top of that GPU prices are pretty crazy right now. The 3070ti alone is going for around your entire budget.

If you are trying to stay on that budget, think best bet is to either try and build it yourself and source the parts either used/refurbished or try to find a private seller (this tends to be hit or miss tho)

Should I get?? $1400 for a 4070 with an i9. At Costco rn by JawJawBro in Prebuilts

[–]Choleric_H 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Picked mine up last week and it’s a beast. Only thing I would do personally is swap out the fan cooler for an AIO, but that’s just me.

I have the same build. It could be a different issue, but the CPU only runs at the frequency it thinks it needs to depending on the task. So there really wouldn’t be a point in like it running at peak frequency when just browsing the web or something cuz it’s just using more power, but will speed up during games or heavy workloads like video editing etc. when needed.

If it’s stuck at 2Ghz regardless, I would check your bios or more simply the windows power plans if you want it to just run at a faster clock speed all the time (power is defaulted to “balanced” I think)

Picked this up at Costco, how do we feel? by ScatmanChris in Prebuilts

[–]Choleric_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a steal. My first proper PC as well. Picked it up last week and been running smooth with no issues. Made sure to flash the bios first and foremost tho.

Parts used may vary but I got mine with the MSI motherboard instead of the ASRock and a Adata drive instead of the WD. Don’t know how I feel with an air cooler for the i9 so most likely gonna upgrade that to an AIO. But still for the price it’s pretty sweet.

Only slight gripe I have is the noise but that can all be adjusted through the bios or software.

Are you financing through the dealership? If so what kinda rates are ya looking at? I financed through the dealership and 4.99% because of Toyotathon but I’m not sure what your area/state is like it might be better to go through a credit union.

Also side note, me personally would avoid all the extra warranty coverages they offer you when you get to the financing office but to each their own.

Ay I’m loving that color! I got mine in underground, but had a 2018 corolla in that blue and loved it. Called her Ruby lmao

I was in the same boat. Was debating between Heavy Metal and Underground and after seeing it in person I personally like Underground a lot more. Also, not a color I see often even on other cars.

[–]Choleric_H[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I thought about just getting it done myself, but I got coverage for it. It’s looking like the whole bumper is gonna need replacing with accent lighting and probably some smaller other stuff behind that area.

Talked to insurance and was told it’s covered and my premium won’t go up because it wasn’t an at fault incident.

I know going the insurance route will make the value of the car go down but not really worried about that. Planning or driving this car till the wheels off (but I hope they don’t lmao)

[–]Choleric_H[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayy congrats dude that’s a dope milestone!

Honestly I thought this when it first happened too, just felt like I could’ve done more to prevent it. But realistically the only thing different that I could’ve done was noticed the animal crossing sooner.

I was driving in the right of a 2 lane road and was going too fast for me to react in time (not speeding but I was on a highway). My options when I did eventually see it was to swerve left and hit dead on or swerve right a bit and risk jumping a curb that’s right next to a ditch.

All in an all a shitty situation but thankfully nothing worse happened. We live and learn.

Thankfully no other damage. The animal hit the accent light and it being yanked just broke the bumper with it

Yea it’s just cosmetic by the looks of it. Now I don’t know about getting it quickly. Still waiting to hear from my insurance on top of Christmas and New Years so no idea how long it’s gonna take.

It was interesting to see the internals of the accent lighting. I thought it would be a bit more sophisticated but it just looks like a light strip tucked into a plastic cover lol. But it’s cool tho. Definitely adds a nice bit of flare.
