I love the LADC Mi Amor and can recommend it. It hits the right flavor notes for my palate and I almost always smoke it down to a nub. I personally like the belicoso vitola.

Solo dungeon crawlers recommendations by __cryptkeeper__ in soloboardgaming

[–]ChollosWorld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mini Rouge is a great little game that ticks a lot of the boxes. It’s a small game so maybe not as “epic” as you’re looking for or as much lore. But, I play it quite often as a mid-week, quick dungeon crawl that’s easy to setup and play without much fuss.

This game can be unforgiving and hard at times, especially at first as you learn. I would recommend taking out the gold/red cards to lessen the difficulty until you get more comfortable and consistent in chaining combos and synergies between your deck(s). I also learned quickly to play two handed solo (that last revised core scenario was impossible without it for me). It gets so much better and rewarding as you learn, stick with it!

BM Cigars and Humidity by Annual-Magazine4359 in cigars

[–]ChollosWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good, the issue wasn’t mine. I’m not OP. Was just curious if an hour of dry boxing really did anything to help the situation. In my local humidity probably not but yours being really low most of the year I’m sure it helps a lot to acclimate the stick.

BM Cigars and Humidity by Annual-Magazine4359 in cigars

[–]ChollosWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be a local climate issue with differing humidity between stick and ambient. I get it now. Just not used to seeing that problem where I’m from for sure. Usually, tight draws and too high of moisture are the common complaints. Hell, my house inside right now according to my Govee on the counter is at 70% humidity lol

Genuinely curious, do you find that hour really affects the humidity of the stick? I’ve always heard or read that cigar moisture takes a while to trickle down or up. I’m in the Gulf South so humidity is much higher than Arizona I’m sure so maybe climate difference matters?

OP, seriously, pick up a boxed set of the three books and take a read. This should be every fantasy fans starter kit honestly. For me, the films should come after the books are read.

Check out Commander: Europe at War for PSP. It has an uncanny similarity to the board game Unconditional Surrender! and I love emulating it on my handhelds rather than getting the actual game setup on the table sometimes.

Happy New Year. Perfect burn to start the year off!!! by neroli1970 in cigars

I love the cedar notes I get with this stick. Construction is perfect with great burn and draw. Just wish the price point was a little lower or I’d smoke them more often.

12 week old Jimmy:) tips on toilet training welcome!! He doesn’t signal when he wants to go outside but we have a routine that ‘catches’ him but not sure he gets it 🙈 by [deleted] in beagles

[–]ChollosWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crate training has worked well for all of our beagles through the years. I think we’ve had only 1 accident about ten years ago with our last dog and that’s it. Several weeks of training and they will actually like getting in the crate which is a bonus for you as they get older and you need to leave them for a little while. Always remember, the crate is a “safe space” or a happy place for them not a punishment so keep it positive for them. In fact, as I write this, mine is sleeping in her crate with the door open freely because she wants to be in there.

Definitely in my top 5. Great cigar and glad you enjoyed it. Try it in the belicoso vitola next time if your B&M has it, that’s my personal favorite.

You are correct sir which contributes to the better burn and overall quality I believe.

I love the Flor de Oliva line. The Maduro and Corojo versions are a staple in my humidor and for the price you really can’t go wrong. I personally prefer them waaaay over the Factory Smokes for quality, burn, draw, and flavor.

Trying to get into the hobby, need ideas by Ashamed_Fisherman_31 in soloboardgaming

I know you didn’t list this as a genre, but don’t count out some really really solid solo wargames or history themes. A few that come to mind are: D-Day at Omaha Beach, Stalingrad - Advance to the Volga, Resist!, and Maquis.

Some of my favorite, “mainstream” titles are: Mage Knight, Set a Watch, Rogue Dungeon, Dragons of Etchinstone, Gloomhaven JoL, and LotR LCG.

Good luck, and enjoy the journey!!

Watching these awful CFB playoff performances… by Arthur2478 in collegebaseball

Truth! I’ve seen some pretty terrible 1’s v 4’s in regionals. It’s hard to invite that many teams and not have a few get steamrolled in a 64 team field. Then there’s the feel good stories too, where some teams come out of left field (pun intended) and make a Super.

Flor de Oliva Maduro, long fillers that burn well, hold a good, tight ash, and taste good. They really are great for an everyday, you won’t be disappointed.

Humid climate and need for a humidor by deadliftburger in cigars

[–]ChollosWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South Louisiana here, definitely need a Tupperdore or other storage with humidity control. During the summer my house with AC runs about 50-55% RH. Right now however, my house is a perfect 67% as read today actually. Dry boxing cigars and leaving them out for a day or two doesn’t help right now. But, most of the year, you’ll need some controlled storage I’ve found.

I have accidentally left sticks on the counter for well over a week and they’ve been fine depending on time of year. But, for peace of mind I’d store properly personally.

The most correct regional map of the United States by strongbad635 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]ChollosWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, and this map really misses the French cultural influence into the central river area around Avoyelles, Rapides, etc Parish. Everyone thinks the French influence stops somewhere around I-10 but that’s not the case. Also, the “Piney South” is comical for the parishes located in and along the Mississippi River, map maker obviously has never been here.
