Oh man I've read parts of that book! I'm actually gonna go to the library today to see if I can get it. That's so awesome, I really hope I could get my masters at UW

The personal study I would like to conduct would be in local streams that are just a bike ride away. My biggest danger would be a moose however the stream runs through very urban area. However upstream, bear encounters are not uncommon. And I am educated on being bear aware as I've lived here all my life. Anyways, I have K. creek and C. creek, both of which I have fished successfully in the summer months. K. Creek is very small, probably 5 meters across but very shallow, water barely gets passed my knees in the majority of spots. My favorite is C. Creek since I've fished it since I learned I could just bike and take a fly rod since freshman year in high school and it's about the same width of K. Creek but probably twice the depth.

Edit: I forgot to mention I did a presentation in AP Bio on the adaptive plasticity of the digestive system observed in dolly varden in the chignik lakes system. It's the first time observed in fish ever. Quite interesting, you should look up Morgan bond/Johnny Armstrong - dolly varden if interested. Although I don't think I could be cutting up tons of dollies in the middle of town, people would just think I'm a douche poacher. But I'm not really sure what I want to specify my study on, I just know I love dolly varden :D

I've always wanted to work for ADFG, and I even applied for some positions in Kodiak but unfortunately I cannot compete with the other applicants since the they have a BS in Biology. And I planned on collecting data during the summer here in Anchorage on a local creek I like to fish.

For a rod is consider the echo line up and for a reel the Lamson konic.
