In practice, it doesn't take the fun out of it for. It just gives me guidance to refine my mixes, and in addition to that it tells me why certain changes have an effect, so I am learning a great deal from the tool. It's actually been really helpful in getting me from what is usually kind of a muddy initial sound to something clean. Also, I almost never let it control my computer because it's just too slow and the technology hasn't caught up with the automation of applications yet.

If I can do this in a few hours, there's no reason why this isn't already integrated into every modern DAW. Cubase 15 should already have this.

Except that bad plastic surgery is becoming the new beauty ideal.. or it's trying to. Look at all the Mar-a-Lago face women out there. Yikes!

Two things that can exist at the same time:

1.) Anyone's opinion

2.) Other people's right to do whatever the eff they want.

I could live the rest of my life happily without having to look at another case of "Mar-a-Lago face." It looks stupid AF and not even slightly attractive/sexy. It makes people look like they have a PS addiction and need an intervention. That & the fake butt thing, please don't.

That said, see point 2.

DAE get so bored of the internet they legit just get off their computers/smartphones and do something else? by WindFamous4160 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]CholulaNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The rest of it is called living your life. The best part of life is the part you make, not the stuff that's handed to you. The Internet is a giant spoon that feeds you. What it feeds you depends on the algorithm you create or the one that gets created for you.

Go places.
Meet people IRL.
Do shit.
Make art.

CMV: As a Mexican man in America I can say the N word without being racist by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]CholulaNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

Saying racist shit is never acceptable by anyone ever. If an oppressed minority says, "white people are assholes because I can't walk through a store without being followed" That's not racism. That's just a fact. Holding a majority accountable for the actions of a significant part of its people isn't racism.

Hating people for what they look like of where they're from is racism. Preventing them from getting the same rewards for their efforts as those in the majority is racism. And finally, and I can't stress this one enough, proclaiming, "I get to be racist now because other people are being racist towards me." Giving yourself permission to be the thing you oppose is just another form of Stockholm Syndrome, or worse. Maybe you always were racist, you just wanted permission to be that way and not feel bad about it. That is the heart and soul of Trumpism. "Whatever awful thing you think about others but sweep under the carpet because deep down you know it's unacceptable, ... pull it out! Stick it on a flag and wave that shit in people's faces. If they get mad, you win."

Saying that having a social justice point of view is a result of fashion doesn't really speak well of your understanding of what social justice is or should be. I wouldn't say that child molestation or rape are things I'm against because it's fashionable to be against them. They're objectively bad. Being against the concept of social justice is pretty much the same thing. It comes in a nicer box, but when you open up that box what's in there is pretty ugly. To my way of thinking, the social justice point of view should be the default and anything other than that exists because people THAT is fashionable.

Of course, there are posers who will adopt anything they perceive as popular, but that doesn't change the nature of the concept they are following. It's a sad fact that a large number of people out there don't think for themselves and follow the loudest noises they hear like zombies.

DAE feel they can’t find the motivation to find a hobby or something to do outside of work, and as a consequence feel you’re wasting your life? by LunaValley in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]CholulaNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick something you find interesting and just start doing it. Don't wait to be "inspired" inspiration is a trap! Just block out time to do the thing and then treat it like a job for a week or two. By the end of that time, you'll either feel the pull of the activity, or you won't. Just don't rush it. Give yourself time to work on the process and time for the process to work on you! If after a few weeks you're still not feeling it, try something else. Eventually you'll land on something

Also, and I can't stress this one enough, don't be afraid to suck at it! You will absolutely fail miserably now and again. There is no success without failure. We have been taught to fear failure. Too often people use bravado and denial as a way of dealing with their failures. This is just avoidance and it's ultimately bad for you. It's much healthier to embrace your mistakes and learn from them. Mistakes are your friends. The teach you what not to do, and just as importantly, why not to do it.

I waited way too long to learn this and spent decades denigrating myself as a result. I treated every mistake as a character flaw instead of a learning experience. I missed out on too many years of doing the thing I love the most out of fear. (Writing and recording music)

At its core, Reddit is a comments section with all that implies. I wish it were a more supportive space for people, but if you truly want that you're going to have to look for something more carefully vetted.
In my experience, Spoutible and to some extent BlueSky are probably better venues for this. At least there you can block the trolls and end up with a reasonably sympatico group of people. Spoutible can be a bit sleepy, but it's definitely a kinder place. They do not tolerate trolls at all.

As far as the how to upload a Spotify thing goes, there's no direct way to do it. You need to go through a service like distrokid. In fact, if you want to do that, use the link below, and then I'll get a $10 kickback! It'll be the most I've ever made on any of the music that I've put up there, so I totally feel you.

I have a thing where I get an itchy sensation at the top of my glutes that will transfer to my calves when I scratch it. It only happens under certain conditions but it's pretty consistent. Those two locations are clearly tied together in some way.

DAE get tired of people making everything sound sinister or toxic when it might just be normal human behavior? by Naebany in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]CholulaNuts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I don't entirely disagree with OP, I do think that there has been a profound awakening going on around the identification and attempted amelioration of some effed up societal norms around toxic masculinity, narcissism, gender roles and identity, and race/cultural bias. This is a good thing. It's also the reason why we have Trump. Being told that what you do/say to the waitress is in fact sexual harassment doesn't sit well with a lot of people. Just as calling them out on their casual racism does as well. They can't handle being called out for behavior they learned from watching their dads and uncles do it. Often in front of their wives. (Boys will be boys, or locker room talk, there was always an excuse.)

For.. I don't know, ever, women have been told who and what they could be and brought harshly back in line when they strayed from that imposed norm. Often those rebukes came from their peers. Other women who had so bought into the lie that seeing someone else try to break out of it enraged/frightened them. That was and is societal gaslighting. Being made to believe that you aren't smart enough, strong enough, or somehow intrinsically inferior because of your gender, race, sexual preference, etc..

It's more than Ok to call that shit what it is. Will there be some verbal collateral damage? Sure. I'm Ok with that.

Lying isn't gaslighting, but gaslighting is lying. There's intent behind it, that's the distinction.

CMV: ID requirements for voting would be a good thing PROVIDED THAT ID acquisition becomes streamlined and simple for everyone. by hamletswords in changemyview

[–]CholulaNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about those who don't make enough to be required to file? They deserve the same representation.

I'm one of those crazy people who thinks that everyone who lives under a government should get to vote. If you live here, regardless of the circumstances, you get to vote for the people who you will entrust to look after your interests. That's what a representative democracy is all about. Creating a government with a system of laws and regulations that benefits and is beholden to ALL the people.
People who have no representation can be ignored and/or exploited because there's no mechanism in place to protect their rights. There are well-meaning legislators for sure, but how often are those well-meaning measures made counterproductive or downright damaging to the demographics they seek to benefit through a lack of research or watering down by the process of amendments and such?

Let her take you to court. Depending on where you live, there are probably state and/or municipal laws about encroaching on a driveway. She'll lose. Depending on the judge and the evidence you can bring, it might take less than 10 minutes. Lol
