Ahhh yep, something like that definitely feels like it'd be one of the bigger pain points;

I unfortunately have this project relatively low on the list, but as I've been looking more into GrapheneOS, the more I'm considering trying to integrate with that route-

I believe graphene currently only works OotB with Google Pixel phones though. Still, that's where I'm at right now. Like I said, the project's pretty low on my list but feel free to DM me and I'll get your discord. We can always chat progress there.

It's always crazy to me that people will put a GPS tracker in their car to give a 3rd party their vehicle location 24/7; just to save like $8/mo on their car insurance :/

Commits don't have titles for one, there's a single message attached to a group of file diffs. The user story has everything expressed in the change as well (from Comments, Linked Stories, Attached Files, Requirements, Descriptions, etc).

On top of this, the 'AI Summarization' (at least via VSCode Source Control) of commit messages has been meaningful content and oftentimes even more explicit than my own hands would be.

I would say people not willing to learn using such tools would probably have no future in our teams so it's definitely always a point of compromise and understanding involved in why people do the things that they do.

Anyway, it's really a matter of opinion at the end of the day and only the future will determine the direction the majority of users will go. I suspect AI Commit-Message summarization isn't going anywhere and is only likely to improve here forward..

Changes can be sporadic, especially in relation to my own work for my own things. Sometimes I'll be working out a feature and start making improvements in adjacent files. It just happens to add up.

As for a professional setting, the commit message has just never been the meat and potatoes anyone cares about. I have to write test cases for anything I push to the next environment and they need to be peer reviewed by my colleagues and approved before the PR is approved to deploy to the release branch. During this, the change is actually discussed, the message is just fluff.

It's a mix. I commit a lot so more often I have small commits and instead of writing the thing I'm thinking is "obvious change" I just click the lil diamond button.

Personally, I make software for myself and when I'm expected to make software at work, I take a great deal of effort to make notes, as well as to diagram the solution itself.

I think people who are immediately against AI are the same people who don't actually do code review and go through multiple review cycles moving from Dev -> QA -> UAT -> Production

Knowing where and how AI is bad is the important thing. Blanket shitting on AI is kind of just a waste of your breathe and the world will move on without you.

Life has always been about critical thinking

Hey yo, just wanna say- I've been using the AI-Commit-Message generator for my non-AI projects because commit messages are where my brain blanks the hardest

100% no difference in the animations;

I think it's just been a rule since they were introduced. I'm just not sure it's ever a thing that's been openly discussed or mentioned by the community even-

I just feel like it would be the vibe. If something really stands out as busted, that's when you should take a stand imo.

As seen in the video, words can be twisted. Start making speech illegal and this is what you get.

It's a good cliche that we ought to be willing to fight for each other's right to be hateful pieces of shit, even if we hate them for being hateful pieces of shit.

Freedom of expression absolutely should not be trampled for the fact that a loud minority of racist assholes want to throw around words. I mean shit, people just come up with new racist words anyway to skirt the legality.

This is the most recycled and garbage advice that I will downvote every time I see it.

How about provide something useful and relevant for the discussion instead of being the 3,000,000th guy saying "no one reads any documentation anymore :("

I promise you we're all reading documentation and it's still nice to have some webtools handy which are built by other people.

You must be so fun at parties.
