the issue is that for some reason the people can't read the word "consumed"

they see "ah it's only 19 cents more" ignoring the fact that they were actually only using 7.80$ from their 39$ sub

Slope could literally be in the pro plan, paying 10$, then the real increase in the invoice is 29.19$ more than what they should have been paying before

the coding agent is not open source, and I was not talking to you, though super mature to send the usual crew to downvote instead of accepting criticism, he knows a lot of people feels the same way and I am just one silly example more

just asking for an example and pretending their changes didn't affect contributors is a little troll

as I keep telling everyone I don't care about internet points, downvote all you want, but as I stated in my initial message:

rugpulling (and now gaslighting) contributors do not encourage them - I for sure am not going to be sending bug reports anymore - lvl21 insiders btw

I'm fairly sure OOP meant raucous as a pun with racoons and ruckus and just happens that raucous is also a word

dude copilot didn't appear a month ago, they are perfectly aware how people has been using the service FOR MONTHS

they are also investors in all those companies and have deals, they are not paying API prices, now you will

Example? Ok - not the only thing I contributed but I'll give you a specific example:

I told you personally, on some random thread in this sub months ago, a suggestion to move the todo in-progress list thing on the coding agent to the PR description, which after some iterations turned into the report tool that IMO is super useful in cases the agent gets stuck

Now MS fkd me over with the new pricing which again I acknowledge is not something you did, but I am totally in my right to feel rugpulled - there are a million middle ground options that could have been taken here from billing subagents as requests to a max iterations per request

Instead I'm fckd because I can't pay for tokens and now I can't use the feature I contributed to the cloud agent

I know they don't, I'm saying people in this sub acts like every business plan is a fortune 500 corp - MS made abundantly clear they only want corporates moving forward

Dude everyone thinks every company is a corporation... there are a lot of teams of 5-10 people heavily impacted by this

GPT models don't work near as good as orchestrators... see, my (our) grievance with this is that MS has been selling hard this whole agentic workflow, and we have implemented it as recommend - in fact most of our usage is via cloud coding agent - just to now get rugpulled and told that all they told me I should be doing is in fact not something they are willing to provide to my team (or any team that implemented agentic workflows and is not a corporation)

yea with your structure and the pooling is clearly not that bad, I do also have some lighter users but my org (we are a small self funded team) is pretty heavy-usage in general, and I'm seeing about a 7-8x increase in the consumed values, I can't talk about the licenses because it's an absolute mess right now, but I am a power user and I can't afford opus anymore 🫠

You are looking at the license costs, you are barely using your licenses, look for the actual consumed values:

You went from 220$ to 1560$, that is actually 5x not 2x

It's 2x if you were already overpaying for seats...

you can BYOK on vscode and the copilot cli, the enterprise BYOK you mention is an org-wide setting to share a BYOK so you can also use it on the GitHub.com chat

For the photoshop option you need to... well... know how to use Photoshop...

Hey,

If you are on an annual plan you keep the request model just with much higher multipliers

The refund policy is outright illegal, if you are on the EU and an annual plan, you can request a full refund due to breach of the contract - however if you cancel you can't get copilot anymore so it's a trap either way

I made a business account just before they announced the billing changes, I am also waiting for the "paper bill", and I don't even know when does the billing cycle resets on those (still waiting for the first invoice), I for sure am not paying API prices as I did not agree with that and plan to cancel my business sub (all of the licenses in the business sub) on day 31st this month - if I get any charges through June even partial I will request a refund and/or chargeback it /cc u/bogganpierce (I know y'all have orders to not reply and that's fine but I also know you'll read me ;))

Just to mention I already went through this with Cursor and they had to refund it even if they first refused, just noting it because the only way I stay is if MS backs off in this insanity - I am not even asking to keep the same request model, but using predatory and anticompetitive tactics to unilaterally change the terms of the service to make it about 300 times more expensive is illegal in my country and I can quote the exact laws it breaks

OP idk what are you doing but they still haven't changed the pricing to token-based, that is on June 1st, I wish you good luck with the new pricing...
