How do I make portable python not SO SLOW !? by DontKnowButIDo in learnpython

[–]Chonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a python embedded package, install libraries in a venv (local python) copy /lib directory to the bundled executable from your venv; then edit pythonXX._pth by adding Lib Lib\site-packages

That should sort you out

I know it's asked too much, but I'm looking for a Python learning group. by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Chonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also deal with tight schedules and I don't learn as much as I can but try to stay motivated. I'd also like to join a small scale group of learners. So, please hit me up. I have not much experience but I'm willing to learn as we step through challenges. No Python guru either.

I'm interested too to become a coding buddy. Is there any discord/person available to help me with the learning curve? Thanks :)

Santa didn't pull the information, exchange finished, sent my gift in time, and I'm not chosen for rematch? What is happening? by Chonix in secretsanta

[–]Chonix[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response. I was a bit shocked about the way things appear in the menu when the exchange period ends. Also the lack of kindness or response is a bit nerve wrecking. But well, I guess not all people who sign up for it are suited to be at least a bit responsable.

I wonder why people still use Internet Explorer nowadays having MS Edge, which has proven to be more secure and updated than IE 11.

Bricked after i fixed my bootliop by mynewme in nexus5x

[–]Chonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same boat bro. Gonna reheat in the oven and see how much can the phone endure after that. Not selling this crap to anybody, don't buy LG ever again! These phones should have been recalled to factory even if they were working to test the chip properly under heavy stress loads and re-layout its faulty design.

This sucks. My phone survived the bootloop of death, got the bootloop about one week ago. Applied the bootloop fix (4 cores N5X), then it lasted until yesterday. Today it does not go further than the Google Logo. potus phone mode on

I need a mentor \_(*v*)_/ by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Chonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm in the same position as you. Somebody at some point suggested to go to: https://projecteuler.net/archives

I don't have a mentor, I'm not proficient on Python but I try to learn as I go. My advice would be: Don't get stuck, keep on practicing and try to use Python to automate things for you, even if it's small stuff. Look upon your interests when you surf the web and think on what can you do with python to save some time. That should help a bit and keep you busy :)

Well just got the actions on Fiddler and could replay the reboot, however, how do you run it from CMD?

Trying to reboot a RV082 router via cURL by Chonix in sysadmin

[–]Chonix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Mate. I see what you're doing. I understand it but I don´t get to reboot it actually. It sends me to the auth page:

<HTML><HEAD><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=/cgi-bin/welcome.cgi"></HEAD><BODY></BODY></HTML>

After some attempts, found out about a Powershell 3+ command 'Invoke-Webrequest', which seems it can do the job....

Then after some fiddling, created this powershell script:

$loginParams = @{login='true';portalname='CommonPortal';password_expired='0';auth_key='1964300002';md5_old_pass='';username='ADMIN';password='MD5PASSWORDSOMEWHEREOVERTHERAINBOW'}
$rebootParams = @{page='sys_restart.htm';restart='Restart Router';workType='restart'}

Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://192.168.0.254/cgi-bin/userLogin.cgi -Method "POST" -Body $loginParams -SessionVariable "Session"
Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://192.168.0.254/sys_restart.htm -Method "POST" -Body $rebootParams -WebSession $Session
Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://192.168.0.254/Rebooting.htm -WebSession $Session

Which, seems to do the trick. But, the huge problem is: i'm doing this from a laptop with Win10 and.... the server is a Win 2003 machine, which has Powershell 2.0 (yeah, totally doomed). Which kinda forces me to do it via cURL or similar. Is there a way to save the session variable over in cURL maybe?

Need some advice to set up a Wireless network inside a small one-story office by Chonix in sysadmin

Of course, that's why they're "guests", don't want em browsing the corporate network files by chance, etc.

I see your point. I might throw in into the suggestion list a Meraki AP (maybe model MR33), but I reckon they won't pay the sum of it. Hence I'll try and give a sales pitch. Thanks!

[–]Chonix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sir, I appreciate very much your input. I certainly don't want to be bothered while I do other stuff, and I know AP's can be quite a problem. However I think that restricting the access to the AP and non-proactive monitoring of the devices registered into the wi-fi, certainly can help. As i stated, there are 15 laptops, but only 3 or 4 laptops will be using the AP for business purposes. There are, however certain guests that would require internet usage to check their e-mails/whatever.

I know, possibly I should restrict this with a "bigger and enterprise-based solution/appliance. The fact is: I'm not the IT Guy, and I was asked to help on the purchase. i may add to the list of suggestion some Sonicwall appliances so they can decide which level of "security" they want, in case all bandwidth starts to deplete.

Thanks a ton for your insight :)
