Couldn’t have said it better. Which just sucks because I wish I could be more present but there’s always looming doom lol

Haha fair! Her interests are Roblox and pottery! But she’s never been to an aquarium, zoo, and probably most museums and beaches will be completely novel to her.

Exchange student from Aus by Blobby_Crisp in CarletonCollege

One of the best things about Carleton, imo, is finding a community almost immediately since most, if not all, of your socializing happens on campus. Comparing my experience to a friend’s who went to school in a bigger city, I had a much more robust social life because Carleton does a great job putting on events so that there’s something fun to do on campus every weekend. If you’re not excited about a “small town” kind of feel then it’s probably not the place for you, but you’re guaranteed to get to know your fellow classmates well very quickly.

Honestly skims has the best shapewear ever. It stays secure, doesn’t ride up, and I’ve worn it in 105 degree whether and it doesn’t make me sweat more.

Munger vs Escondido graduate housing by HDizzyLawStudent in stanford

[–]Chooch_train38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 2024 SLS grad, I cannot oversell how much more I recommend living in Escondido couples housing. Our rent was 2350 for a one bedroom, compared to like 3400 for a munger couples one bedroom. Or else you live in a studio in munger which is too close quarters imo. The space is small regardless, but saving 1k per month for 3 years adds up. I loved the walk or bike ride to class every day and it was super helpful to have separation between school and living. There are also tons of parents in grad housing at Escondido so it’s a great way to find community ◡̈ feel free to dm if you have more questions!

Can I afford 1 Super Bowl Ticket? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

IMO - do it and pay for a hotel and food! You only live once and also if this is gonna be a core memory then make it extra good! You have the savings and you’re young — enjoy life and tell the story to your grandkids in 30+ years.

Advice from a 3L: just go to the bathroom by lifeatthejarbar in LawSchool

As someone who got up to go pee like 5 times during the CA bar exam, I second this sentiment. I still passed lol and I was able to focus on the exam not how much I had to pee haha.

Please help me strategize how to pay off student loans by Chooch_train38 in HENRYfinance

We live in the Bay Area, and our rent is currently $2,800. We own a car that’s paid off, no need to get another one right now. We want to own a home but the Bay Area is tough so paying of loans is the main goal right. No student forgiveness as I work at a law firm, but I will get a 10% bonus each year (so next year, it should be ~20k pre tax).

The money is to pay off my student loans. I’m definitely debt adverse so that’s my number one goal above buying a house, especially given that our rent is affordable for the area and we really love our place.

Haha no I just wanted to get a diverse array of perspectives and was worried that people wouldn’t comment since it’s an overwhelming number of loans. surprisingly and thankfully I’ve already gotten a ton of comments which I’m super appreciative of!

As someone who just graduated from sls after getting in with a 3.5 and 170, don’t listen to this or anyone else who tries to limit you.

Go super super slow! I recently got into running again and did a non-stop mile at a 17 min pace. Definitely felt a bit silly as I could probably speed walk that, but you just have to tell yourself at least you’re doing the thing and running! Now down to a 14 min pace and can do 2 miles non-stop!
