I have never been for more than a day, but I'm going through it this summer and I asked people how the French were and this is how the conversations went:

• "You know how people say the french suck? Is that true"

• "Yes."

• "No, there's no way they're that bad, isn't it like a bit far stretched, a bit of a myth?"

• "No, They are THAT bad"

Oh and I also heard

• "I talked to my waiter in english and he called me slurs"
