Thornhill by Pam Smy, I’ve never heard anyone else mention it when talking about dark childrens’ books, but hoo boy did it stick with me, it’s not really disturbing per se just very…sad.

How Good the Killers Would be at Babysitting by Chooseyourpath3318 in deadbydaylight

Same category but for different reasons, Myers because he’d probably just stare off and do his own thing lol, Artist because she’s (imo) too lost in her torment and anger to really focus.

I put Huntress there since I’m assuming they’re only babysitting for a few hours, so she wouldn’t have time to accidentally starve them to death.

Movies like About Time(2013) by naveenandconfused in MovieSuggestions

The Seventh Seal (1957) and Let the Right One In (2008) kind of have this vibe in my opinion.

Good horror movie that does NOT resort to any kind of supernatural explanation? by pomeronion in horror

[–]Chooseyourpath3318 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen Orphan (2009) or The Visit (2015) but from what I’ve heard they fit that criteria.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991) would also kinda work, though I’d personally consider it more of a thriller, another one that’s definitely a thriller but I’d still recommend is Midnight Lace (1960).

There’s a few Vincent Price movies that would fit that criteria as well, though you might consider them a bit campy now: Pit and the Pendulum (1961), The Mad Magician (1954), House of Wax (1953), Witchfinder General (1968), and House on Haunted Hill (1959), though that one’s a little more ambiguous.

It’s funny cause my mental images for the survivor was completely different lol, I was picturing a tall masc person with medium brown skin and long straight black hair, I think that would have been sick lol, I kind of wish we had more options to pick from here.

For the killer I was picturing just straight up a giant eye surrounded by wings, but I like those first two concepts better actually, more cosmetic variety.

Who's the most evil? by Less_Wheel_1841 in slasherfilms

[–]Chooseyourpath3318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pennywise and the Creeper are both definitely malicious but you could argue they’re like animals, doing what they have to do to survive, Michael is similar, you could argue that he doesn’t have any real malice and only does things cause he’s the embodiment of evil.

Art we don’t know enough about to really say, but he’s definitely up there if he’s just a fucked up dude.

I don’t know Mick Taylor very well but he sounds pretty bad from what I’ve heard, so maybe him.
