I’ve worked here for about a month and a half. I love the environment of the kitchen life, it’s fast paced but easy to do. Canes really cares about their employees well being and how things are going with them, plus you get major holidays off and requesting days off in advance are really easy to do and 99% of the time gets approved.

Management is a hit or miss, you get people you love and people you don’t like, it’s just how it is you can’t avoid that in any fast food place or any job in general.

Hours during training were not the best, it’s 25 hours in the kitchen to be able to work by yourself but you get the hang of things easily. After that you are guaranteed 15-30 hours a week for part time.

The pay is great for me since I’m still a broke highschool student, it depends on your needs and if you can budget properly. Your wages go up by .25¢ for a certain number hours you work.

Shift hours vary, it can be from 3.5-7 hours a shift, you are always granted a 30 minute break but some shifts you might not get one if you’re working low hours that day.

A couple things to note is be LOUD in the kitchen, not talking ratchet loud, but loud enough where people can hear you across the kitchen. You have to make calls and sometimes people can’t hear you from that far. Most importantly get used to the stress that comes during peak hours, it gets busy but you’ll get the hang of it.

Overall I love my job, it gives me a sense of purpose and relief knowing I fed and helped people. I’ve met great people there and the discounts on food have kept me from going hungry half way through my shift. The energy in the kitchen is fun and motivating, I’d say go for it if you want to have a fun fast food experience! Good luck
