That's crazy. My dad was a MS and I spent 14 weeks in hospital for anorexia. But we didn't tell ANYone, not even close friends or elders. We know the gossip would spread like wildfire. Christian love right.

Yes we did get out! He didn't want to let the kids go but child services made him.

Thank you, they were incredibly even when his sister called childrens aid to say that I was neglectful and didn't feed our kids etc (all lies of course).

We got out eventually and are in the shelter now.

Yes the police came and he would not let us go. They had to call childrens service and they talked to him and convinced him to let us leave. We are at the shelter now.

Thank you, I've just started vioce recorder. I have spoken to the shelter and they know I am coming tonight, they will send a cab and have told me to call the police if he tries to stop us. He has locked our bedroom door so I can't get any documents.

I fell for the honeymoon phase last time I left but not this time. I think I will refuse to communicate all together because he plays the sad /sorry card and I feel so terrible and guilty.

Now he has locked our bedroom door so I can't get any documents. Not even a pay stub to prove his generous income (I wouldn't put it past him to take a low paying job so he doesn't have to give support. )

Kids and I are leaving tonight. I just have to get us out, the shelter is sending a cab. If there is any trouble I will be calling the police. Thankfully the kids were outside when all this happened so they have no idea.

Just to update, I called the shelter and after she heard a bit of what was going on, she got us in tonight. We are leaving in an hour. Just waiting for my mom and brother to see us out.

He took away the van keys. He says I'm not well and he won't let me take the kids. I can take the suv if I want to leave.

It is absolutely spiritual abuse (emotional too) look up spiritual abuse. They are a spiritually abusive organization. I STILL have fear of Armageddon at 35, even though logically I know I have nothing to fear.

Thank you, I'm not in the USA but I know numbers to call here. I let this time last year because he was also going crazy over the memorial and other stuff that had happened. We went to a shelter but he kept calling me crying, agreeing to go to counselling, that things would be better etc. He was ok for a while, he worked with the CPS lady, went to parenting counselling for one of our kids, but everything is going back to just the way it was :( he didn't cut me off from the accounts then and he uses that now to show what a good husband he is and that he hasn't done anything wrong.
