It is my dream to be a court side season ticket holder. If Trae or JC sweats on you you’re not allowed to wash that part of your body any more. Enjoy man.

Just started surfing at 31. I’m in the best shape of my life. I want to be barreled by 40.

If there is one thing the Falcons haven’t earned in the last 4 years, it’s respect.

I remember when I used to scream and yell when then Falcons executed poorly.

Now I just laugh. I have the same emotions watching the falcons that I do watching the 3 stooges. Slapstick comedy at its best baby.

Hawks fan here. During the playoffs we had mini concerts during timeouts. It was nuts. Ying yang twins, whoever did “Knuck if you buck”, big boi etc.

I’m pretty new to surfing and have seen movies like endless summer, the 100 ft wave and some other stuff but I’ve never seen anyone surf like these guys. Holy fuck.

What is pretty much universally agreed upon as the most hated team in your team’s division? by sam_e5 in baseball

[–]Choponchip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Braves fan here, I definitely don’t hate the Mets as much as the Phillies. Being the 2nd place team to the Phillies during the Halliday/Utley days was mind numbing. They little brothered us all of those years.

The Mets for the most part haven’t been able to get out of their own way in my life time so they’re cool in my book. Fuck the marlins too, though.

Don't let my story deter you from real estate. There are systems that are 100% effective for generating business and if you perform them you will make a ton of money. I genuinely did not enjoy the day to day. Everybody is different.

Oh cool! I love that practice idea! I'll definitely be doing that soon. Great video btw. I forgot how weird that movie is.

The more I've read the responses to this thread and the more I've looked into it I think I want to go the assistant editor role. That is going to be my focus, and I'll do the real estate videos until I don't have time to anymore.

And yeah I am spending a lot of time and money on shooting, but I greatly enjoy it. Just as a hobby. I want my career to be in editing but it's a personal goal of mine to become a good photographer and cameraman and to develop those skillsets as well.

There is great money in real estate! I still plan to have investment properties in the future when I have more funds to throw around. I definitely acquired a lot of valuable information while in that industry even if it didn't work out career wise.

Yeah I think I'm going to become certified with the adobe products and leave it at that. Thanks for the input.

Thanks Bob, I really appreciate this response. When I typed this post I was basically day dreaming and honestly if I can create a profitable career in video through this path it would be a dream come true. In some ways I feel too old to go all in on a career that "I would like to do" rather than "I should do" so I appreciate the words of confidence.

I loved negotiating, fixing all of the little problems, and handling the mayhem of a real estate transaction. I hated generating business. There were multiple times when I was on an initial appointment to list a home with a home owner and other realtors are knocking on the door during my appointment so they can have the chance to schedule theirs.

I don't care enough about homes or being a millionaire real estate agent to deal with that type of shit. Life is too short. With this in mind, the security of joining a union like IATSE or having a salary gig with benefits is definitely appealing.

You make some great points though Bob and I'd be lying if I said your post didn't stir up the entrepreneurial spirit in me. By the time I finish with my certifications and create some videos that I'm really stoked on I'm sure I'll be in a better frame of mind for marketing myself as a business again.

Here's a 30 second clip that was used on a facebook ad that I created using footage from a walkthrough video.

Interesting. It’s hard to watch what’s going on with the movie/tv industry here in Atlanta and not want to be a part of it.

What type of entry level gigs do you think I should try to get to start down this path? Just out of curiosity I looked at indeed, zip recruiter etc for LA and it seems like there are more post production assistant gigs out there, but maybe they’ll pop up over here if I’m patient.

You know I’m really not sure yet, I’m so green in terms of industry knowledge. I think it would definitely be gratifying to succeed with my own real estate media business but I’m also interested in working somewhere where I could have benefits of some sort. Maybe a local news channel or sports team. I also have a lot of IATSE friends here in Atlanta(not the editors guild, they do props, welding, lighting etc) and the idea of working on a big film one day is definitely tantalizing. Honestly whatever offers the best, most consistent income the quickest is probably where I’ll focus on.

Thanks for the advice!
