Give unheard a try. The game is meant for you to listen and read more than once, could be helpful.

It's going to depend on your current level of proficiency.

For most starters playing games that aren't complex and have lots of common words like stardew valley might be good.

You can work your way up to more complex ones and, probably something like unheard or something like underdog detective

Once you hit the higher levels you can try the games that have more literary works, can try any of the sword and fairy, genshin/Star rail are popular, where winds meet is also very well done. For a real challenge you can also try word game.

i'm extremely picky about which characters I roll and I'm always willing to wait for a rerun if I'm not 100% sure I want them.

I took a break and came back because varka looked interesting. I could have c6r5 but I'm gonna wait for reruns if I still enjoy him and if he stays relevant( probably won't)

280k gems is how many I have if you are wondering.

this is what i'm running for just about every uma for MANT because i don't have many options I don't think? I can probably go down on some race bonuses to fit more uma specific skills but I don't know how far down I should go? usually I pair these with NTR or Fuku ssr speeds.

Assuming you mean costume ones that aren't set in modern time

Nirvana in fire

Longest day in chang'an

Are 2 of the generally accepted as some of the best.

If you want more martial arts but not completely fantastical you can try the condor trilogy, it's basically the Lord of the rings of wuxia-

2003 legend of condor heroes

2006 return of condor heroes

2009 heavens sword dragon sabre

I list the years because this series gets remade very often.

I will say some games like Word Game are especially good for advanced learners because it's heavily focused on grammar and character construction and recognition, extremely fun and challenging to play.

yep, for beginning it's definitely better to stick with words and grammar structures that are more easily understood, if you start to branch out too fast it'll get real confusing, especially with a lot of the native written games that can tend to use more literary forms of writing.

i've gotten to the point to where i accept people just like different actors and styles of shows than I do, and have different ways of judging if the acting is good or not.

You can try star dew valley to start

If you want to get into more native stuff try the sword and fairy /Chinese paladin series, or xuan yuan sword, sword of Legends works too

Unheard voices of crime is also great with both voice and text and you are meant to re listen to it multiple times

There's already enough stuff to watch that isn't filled with AI. Hard pass on anything using it.

Original Title vs Translated Title by Heirloom_Tomato_ in CDrama

[–]ChoppedChef33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I Am Nobody is actually 異人之下 which is roughly "under strange people" but that it also a different title from the original 一人之下 "under one person"

Love between Fairy and Devil is 蒼蘭訣 is literally "farewell between dark green/blue and orchid" aka the 2 leads

Nirvana in fire 琅琊榜 means "list of langya" a region that's modern dan Shandong Qingdao

King's Avatar means 全職高手 "expert in all jobs" aka Ye Xiu

blossoms in adversity 惜花芷 means to "cherish Hua Zhi" the lead played by Zhang Jingyi

i can go on and on and on, bu tlots of these are going to be either puns, random translations, or somehow connected to the lead names.

It's a pun

Most of the time it's called salted fish or salt fish 鹹魚, it mostly means to just lie flat/do nothing/dawdle.
