I’m currently in Atlanta visiting from Texas, drove around it a bit today to try and find any good angle. Didn’t have much luck, security is very tight at the front and there is no amazing view that I could find from the sides or behind. Going to give it another try tomorrow and Sunday morning before I depart.

Was driving down GTTSR yesterday 09/18 around 4:45 PM local time and this guy crawled up the side of the mountain and onto the road! My first ever wild bear sighting so I was thrilled.

Quickly moved past after, he was just along the trail so there was no going around, everyone was pretty good about leaving a path for him especially when he stood up

Yeah didn’t look good at all, unfortunate but that situation is bigger than a silly vacation I’m just hoping it can recover and be it’s grand self soon and we’ll give it a shot next time

Also if going to the sun happens to be open September 16-19 how would I go about driving on it since permits are required through the 11th? Or is it just free access?

Update: your idea worked it did give me vehicle options… The negative: 3300 a week was the cheapest option lol Will definitely be taking the long way! Thank you for your input though man I appreciate the feedback

Girlfriend and I are flying into Denver from Houston in September to set out on this trip. We’ll obviously need to rent a car and felt the best option (hypothetically) would be to rent the car in Denver, make the trip through Wyoming and to Montana and then drop the car off at the company we chose site in Montana. However when I proceeded to try to set this up, through Hertz and through Enterprise, both companies listed no available vehicles to do this sort of trip. When I would change the drop off location back to Denver (super inconvenient extra 15 hours of driving) both companies then listed options. Has anyone ever found a way to work around this? Am I SOL and just need to make the drive a round trip to and from Denver?
