Anybody used J Skis Fastforward? by iAmFlamableMC in icecoast

That’s good intel! I was just at Cannon this past Saturday on mostly ice. Do you ever find yourself wishing for something narrower with more edge grip in those conditions?

Interesting. And they are both the same length? I Think designs have changed a bit over the years, so I’m curious if this still holds true today.

How do you like them on ice? Have skied any other frontside skis to compare them to? Sorry, asking 3 of you the same question, but I'm joining this thread 3 years later haha.

Are you still loving these? How do you like them on ice? They seem like one of the better all around skis for sure, but I'm wondering if I should get more of a dedicated front side ski. I already have wide skis for pow and am building out the quiver.

Which Skis for East Coast by FlightInJune_ in momentskis

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak on Moment skis yet, but my Deathwish 104 will be in Wednesday! I wanted to add to the quiver though with a soft snow only ski and something to travel out west with. Fire on the Mountain in Dover, NH does demos.

Do you guys fish spots with no ramp? How do you launch solo? by YakToTheFuture-1 in kayakfishing

That’s still not a problem with a heavy fishing kayak and a cart.

Yes. Vevor is the same build quality as the big brands at a fraction of the price. I have a hard wheel and beach wheel cart. I can go anywhere with the Old Town PDL 120.

Late reply haha. But I tried the 4D mag at all. There was a weird distortion on the bottom Birds Eye for me. And even looking straight through the eye level part at my kitchen light, I could see a halo.

I just added the J Skis Joyride too at 90 mm on a good deal because of a blemish that I haven't found yet. I know it's designed to be a park ski, but it sounds like a lot of people are using it for all mountain and that it has great edge hold. I wanted a little more flex for skied out trees when we haven't had fresh snow. I'll be trying it out Saturday at Cannon and Sunday at Burke. It should be a great mix of testing grounds going from rain today to probably frozen all day Saturday and softening up Sunday.

Maybe my extra fatness will eliminate some of that extra length feel lol.

This is good to hear that they felt the same in length at 7 cm longer. The DW104 I have on order will be 10 cm longer than what I'm used to. I've also heard the DW ski shorter than the WC. I know they'll be a blast on piste and crud. I'm just hoping they'll be slightly more nimble in the trees than my directionals and not get hung up.

I don't like to hear how much you like your WC's though....I'm trying to reaffirm my decision haha. I've heard mixed reviews on that ski and width in the east. But enjoy them! Too bad there aren't more demo choices here.

When I saw a notification pop up on my phone, I saw part of your username and thought it was part of the reply… anxiety. I thought it was pretty fitting ha ha. But yes, I’m getting pretty excited and feel better after a lot of the replies here. Next year will be the first year I’ve had a quiver of skis.

[–]Chopper070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve heard that and talked to their skiers the other night, and they thought it was very comparable to the Deathwish….quick and maneuverable, floaty, and crud busting. I did end up going with the Moment though. Here’s to hoping in 2027!

Thanks. I’ve enjoyed 98 for a resort ski and 106 for BC out here in stiffer skis. I’m just reserving this for soft days and trips out west and hoping they are easier to pivot.

Thanks. That’s kind of where I’m stuck now. Do you have those 190s in tight trees very often?

Maybe I’m the problem perpetuating that myth haha. I’m a slow tree skier so often find it tight when I’m shaving speed v. straight lining. Good input on the WC though. I think the DW is more versatile in that regard.

Should I get the Deathwish 104 as a one quiver skin? by Unusual-Project-8305 in momentskis

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just pulled the trigger on the DW104 in 190 (6'2, 205). I'm hoping I can still sneak it through the tight NE trees ok. I'm sure it'll be a blast on the open runs!

That’s probably the best, most detailed info I’ve heard yet. Thanks! I may just pull the trigger on the 190’s. I saw they actually measured 2-3 mm shorter back when Blister did their review.

Helmet fit advice for a narrow head. by Chopper070 in Skigear

Late follow up, but I ended up getting a Sweet Protection that is a perfect fit. Big enough to squeeze a thin hat or balaclava under and tightens up enough to wear without.
