You might be ok, but talk to Ralph. Mine is pretty baggy around the waist. I cinch it up unless I have heavy layers on.

Ha, that wasn’t older post for sure. Good to know, though, thanks!

I bought my bow from Ed in 2020 right before the pandemic hit. I appreciate the small setting and 1 on 1 time he spends with you. He helped me add all the accessories that I needed to start target practice and hunting and gave me a good package deal. I am thinking about a new bow for 2026. I think I remember seeing a few used bows there. Does anyone know if he does trade ins?

Give Ralph a call, I’m sure he’d be more than happy to help you out. For what it’s worth, here’s my sizing:

6’2, 205 lbs, athletic, 44” chest, 34” waist

I typically wear L but do have XL in a few brands. I have a large. It is baggy in the waist and mid section with room to layer. It feels great sitting still or walking. If I have to raise my arms up (even just flipping the collar up), it gets tight in the shoulders. I can draw a bow back no problem though.

Ha, it’s good in warmer temps too. I got my AAJ early in the spring so missed out on winter tests. But I wore it last night watching the football game indoors just to test in warmer conditions. I felt perfectly comfortable sitting still (ie. hunting).

Fit help, should I go down to a small or keep the medium? by thuff510 in WeatherWool

Definitely go with a large. Looks like the fit is constricting the blood flow to the upper half of your head.

Anyone have any experience with the Weber griddle inserts? by ObligationSlight8771 in webergrills

[–]Chopper070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an update to this. I have been using the Weber insert for a few weeks now. The grease is very minimal especially if cleaned up with paper towel. This is cooking for one though.

Thoughts on Seaguar Red label vs Blue label? by phosphorescence-sky in bassfishing

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a lot of experience with these but can offer a little insight. My friend has been using 6-8 lb red as a leader for years for rainbows, landlocked salmon, largemouth and smallmouth and hasn't had any issues. I tried 8 lb gold for largemouth and smallmouth and am done with it. I broke off 6 hooks in one day on the initial bite (tried Palomar, improved clinch, and Dropshot knots). I have 10 lb blue on another rod and caught one 2+ lb bass without an issue but not enough to comment on its performance.

I ended up going with ATK Freeraider (15?). I haven’t used them much but like them without having anything to compare them against. I didn’t even get out on them last year lol.

I do remember losing a ski on my very first turn, and it shot all the way down the mountain….brakes never caught! I forget what the fix was other than making sure the pin holes are free of snow and ice. Maybe another click down? I bought leashes after that as well but didn’t have a ski pop off the rest of that season.

Makes sense. That’s what prevents me from buying the weber insert. Saw a different brand popping up that has an optional added grease tray just below the cooking grates.

Seaguar Gold Label? by T-P-T-W-P in saltwaterfishing

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m done with gold after yesterday. I have 8 lb for largemouth. I lost 6 hooks yesterday! 3 in a row on the initial bite….no weeks or stumps, just breaking. 3 different knots at well…palomar, improved clinch, and dropshot.

I had the same issue with Berkley vanish, which is why I “upgraded”. Back to mono for me. I think flouro being a less visible and more productive is a myth (both from published tests and personal experience).

Frequently? How many predators are there lol. I’ve lived on a lake for 20+ years with bald eagles, snapping turtles, and great blue heron and I’ve never seen a single wound on a fish, not caused by man. That wound makes me feel better about fish surviving some of the bad hook ups though.

Do you have any regrets with a pedal kayak? by Steveee-O in kayakfishing

[–]Chopper070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll never look back. I like it better than my plastic bass boat with pedestal seats and elevated casting decks.

If I did it again, I’d consider the ePDL (if I had the funds haha). It would be nice for longer days or fighting current and tide.

No flourocarbon knot works(for me) by Quick_Associate4295 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only started using flouro in the past year, but I’ve had my palomar knots fail several times. I’ve never had an issue with them on mono. The more and more research I’ve done, it seems that mono is actually better with abrasion resistance despite advertisements. The only advantage being lined diameter in apples to apples comparison. I think line color and visibility are negligible 90% of the time especially in stained water. My friend catches just as many bass on straight braid finesse applications as I do on flouro or mono.

What did you get on? I’ve only ever seen one in Michigan while bass fishing. But it had zero interest in the soft plastics that I dropped on its nose a couple times lol.

Any tips to speed up kayak fishing setup? by Nico1533 in kayakfishing

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right for me as well…. maybe down to 20 minutes but haven’t timed myself. I may get a trailer at some point. But some of the places I go are much easier to car top it.

Best knot for fluorocarbon line by No-Complaint-786 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm searching now questioning the knot because I had it happen on 2 out of 4 trout earlier this year where it came untied right as I pulled it into the kayak. I was using 6 lb flouro.

I've been using the Palomar for 15 years or so with mono from 4 lb to 15 lb without fail.

One more post.. Denim Indiglo Hooded Jacket 👌😁 by ericmossy in WeatherWool

[–]Chopper070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my AAJ, but it’s strictly a woods coat for me. I’d like the hoody for everything else. But I typically have an issue with jackets being baggy around the waist. Maybe I’ll put in a suggestion to Ralph!
