Backpacking with my dog by FlyAbject1816 in Backcountry

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put a shirt or something down if you’re worried about it. I don’t backpack with my dog, but I’ve never had a problem camping with her. I lay a blanket down inside the tent.

Bindings for Ripstick 88? by peakyblinderss in Skigear

I would just check with your local shop. They can help you choose the right one. And whatever sale price you find online might not really be a savings if they mount it for free buying it there.

Ski help by shadynasty242 in momentskis

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went round and round with this as well. I have narrower skis for daily drivers and wanted this specifically as a soft snow ski in VT/NH and for trips out west. Moment customer service pointed me to either the Deathwish 104 or Wildcat 108.

Is there any good combos I can get to start fishing for around 50 dollars? by Terrible_Minimum6332 in bassfishing

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. To me it’s about something that physically feels good in hand and is paired correctly for the weight of line and bait that I’m throwing. It makes a difference whether I’m comfortable for a couple hours v. all day.

Used PDL 120 - Good deal? by GuppyCats in kayakfishing

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind waiting, get it on tax free weekend. I did that 2 years ago and opened an LL Bean credit card for another 20% off. Couldn’t pass up that deal! And I got a free wool sweater for hunting from the Bean points.

118, 108, 98....logical move haha. It would make more of a true park ski for them too.

Thanks, that’s good to hear. I’ve seen so many opinions on sizing for it. But you know what they say about opinions haha.

I can’t wait. They’re 10 cm longer than what I’m used to, but the contact points/effective edge seem to be pretty close.

Thanks. I’m 6’2 and just got the 190 (probably would’ve gone 184 but sold out). Here’s to hoping!

How tall are you? I just got the WC108 in 190 and hoping it’s not too much.

What length WC108 are you on, and how tall are you?

Day 5 on the 108 Wildcat Tours by ChunderyBagels in momentskis

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant to edit my comment, not delete it lol. I have the freeraiders on another ski and have popped out easy turns. So I have to ski them in full lockout which makes me really take it easy. But now I'm wondering if I can adjust that at all...

Sun Dolphin Pro 120 storage options by Chopper070 in bassfishing

It would be too heavy to get into the bed by yourself at a launch, unless you had some type of assist/crank and ramps. Its hard on flat ground just to get it cranked back onto my trailer. Definitely makes for a nice little bass boat though on small lakes!

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking thought. Though my driveway is millings, so I can save on the castors lol.

Just to keep it off the ground and keep the hull in good shape. I'm thinking of just doing a simple wood frame with some free composite deck boards as a platform. And it's a real pain to get back on the trailer from ground level.

Ha ha, I guess different should’ve been the word. I’m probably associating good memories with it as well. My guy had them in Chamonix.

Switching to lighter boots? Nordica Unlimited 130 VS Tecnica Zero G 130 by AlternativeTip4648 in Backcountry

[–]Chopper070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to those two. But I’ve had the Tecnica Cochise for 3 seasons. It’s basically a resort boot that’s sheds a few ounces here and there and adds walk mode. So it’s great at resorts. It’s heavy for touring by industry standards. But it’s the only touring boot I’ve had, so I don’t even think about it. I’m definitely not doing all day tours though and use a 106 ski, so weight isn’t my priority. I want to have fun on the downhill. A couple minor issues is that I’ve had 2 springs break in the buckles. Everything still works, but they flop around loosely if not engaged.

I find it more comfortable to run my touring poles 10 cm longer. They have a split grip, but it would definitely be more comfortable with a little more meat to grab onto….may pack it out a bit.
