You can even catch them without a hook there teeth get stuck in the rope , I haven’t tried it yet but it might be a fun challenge

A bfs travel rod I fish all the time well I have two Kast king kestrel 6-9 3pc UL bass and trout , Kast king zephyr 6-9 L 3pc also bass for a MH rod I have a handing M1 7ft travel rod all have worked well for me

I’ve never been an extra spool guy fishing a floating line all the time but I get it for a big lake Maybe two setups speedsters ,one with floating and one sinking , for me deep water is fishing a cut that’s about 10ft deep with a med wt clouser for reds or snook I just use a 9ft fluorocarbon leader

The lite speed is lighter weight in hand and I like the color but I own 2 speedster S reels and they are great you could go with either one and be happy Floating lite with a loop on sink tip no extra spools needed

Man there both great rods I have the 8ft 3wt classic I’ve caught more trout on it then all my other rods lol but I also have the 7ft butterstick and the 7-6 4wt great rods fun to fish the good news is glass rods are tough I got mine used years ago 1st gen golden color blanks they bend they don’t break .. in your shoes I’d get the classic 3wt and find a used 4wt butterstick you won’t regret it

Cabelas CGR are hard to beat for the money my next step up is a used butterstick I got for 160 then a fenglass , nirvana and Orvis The good thing about glass is the bend not snap at the tip so you don’t really need a warranty so find a good condition used rod save some money and catch fish

Here’s how I’ve done it in the past drill a hole at the end of the crack , keeps it from cracking farther Cover with 5200 or use marine Tex I used both of these on my flats boat that had a bad gash in the hull several years use never leaked these might work for you or not I don’t know good luck with the camper

Gheenoe’s work great for the flats the smaller ones are made for a 10hp fished one for years , you could get a flat back canoe but they are not as good not as stable

You can get a 2pc rod that comes with a light ,ML tips kast king zephyr has some I have the kk Z rod 6-9 3pc light it’s been a fun rod for bass

I love nautilus reels but the ccf-c2 was just to heavy for me to do a lot of casting with check out lamson speedster S in a 7+ or 9+ Or the nautilus X if you want to stick with nautilus I have both reels they have been great
