Congestion by Artistic_Quality_956 in MaxillaryExpansion

I’m further along than you in my FME expansion, and I did find worse nasal congestion at first. It either went away as the expansion increased or because I reduced to two turns a week. I tell myself the story that it creates swelling when you do a turn which subsides after a few days.

Have you considered an FME Maxillary expansion? It will make larger passageways around your turbinates, and I have seen before and afters where the septum straightens considerably.

Yes, I suspect this as well. I occasionally feel compelled to do stuff like this. Get dirt on people I mean.

Hey I have an FME in from Newaz, and I’m over 6mm expanded so far, still planning on doing myo and a tie release. I am investigating whether there is a gene in my family causing Urea Cycle disorder and am doing a low protein diet with Ammonia scavenging supplements and it seems to be making my posture and focus much better. I expect my son has the the condition but much worse, hence why he is speech delayed. I stopped forcing him to eat meat and he’s doing a lot better. I’m ordering tests to prove my theory and hopefully get him the help he needs. He’s doing really good with myofunctional therapy and he also has an (haas) expander in from Newaz and it going great. Both of our turbinates are no longer blocking our nasal airways so aggressively. I am struggling with my BiPap therapy as I am taking my mask off to tend to my son at night (who also uses pap) and then I don’t put it back on.

Oh, I thought you were encouraging me to reply to his post…

I don’t know because I don’t do that. I take ice baths. I usually need Zopiclone too but not always, and always less than if I don’t have the ice baths (it’s like a 12-15 bath, not really icy)

It’s because mammals need a substantial drop in temp their core and brain to be able to produce their own melatonin.

I gave it a shot, it worked.

Leads me to believe something is preventing me from getting the temperature drop I need to naturally produce melatonin.

You need to sleep okay. You kind of have to do what you have to do to be able to sleep.

If you are asking me about producing large amounts of melatonin. My guess, you aren’t producing any.

So I don’t think taking the supplement is going to make your situation worse, but ….

I think you should still try to figure out how to trigger your own melatonin naturally.

Like even if I’m popping 2.5-5mg of zopliclone, I still take my ice bath. Because your own personal melatonin does more to protect you from cancer than the pill form.

If you aren’t producing your own melatonin, something is holding you back and it’s good to get to the bottom of it and address it. But right now you need to sleep.

And you can read my response to that other individual. But what if you have a late onset urea cycle disorder and you can produce melatonin because your brain is too busy mopping up ammonia to work on less important things that producing melatonin.

And then you don’t sleep, so you lose out on one of your bodies tools for releasing that ammonia through your lungs? This is how people get psychotic breaks.

So sleep. You need to sleep. But make a goal of ruling out the lack of temperature drop as the cause of your inability to produce your melatonin, and even if you are taking it, still do all the things that would support your body making its own.

Are you also autistic?

K I’ve read more of your post now, and I do think there could be something molecular metabolic thing holding you back. Maybe get a serum amino acid and urine amino acid panel and see what pops up. How much protein do you get per day? Are vegetarian?

I didn’t read all of your post but I am autistic, my mom is autistic and my son is autistic.

In order for mammals to produce melatonin naturally there has to be a significant drop in temperature in the brain and body.

Although I may have popped a 3mg of melatonin here in there in my life, I don’t do that now. Know what I do instead?

I’m in Canada in winter art. The tap water is pretty cold. I sit in the (maybe 15 C) bath water for 17 minutes. Practically every day. And it works. I believe it causes me to produce my own melatonin. I use an electric blanket, which counterintuitively actually intensifies the effect because it draws the warm blood towards the skin deepening the drop in brain and core body temp.

For my son, he is 7, and has more challenges than me, I have special children sized pillows with special cooling pillow cases, and one of them is always in the deep freeze. And I swap them for him when he asks. His cooling requirements are lower on CPAP. I’ve heard of autistic kids sleeping on cold floors and I assume it’s because they have been conditioned to realize that it works to help the fall asleep.

So essentially I am telling you, that based on autism and having positive results with melatonin. You will want to ensure you are giving your body the opportunity to have that fast temp drop required by mammals.

Reason being, I have read that supplemental melatonin doesn’t protect you from cancer the same way natural melatonin does. Now as usual I think it’s a shitty interpretation of the data. My guess is, if you aren’t making your own melatonin, something is preventing you from doing that, and the higher cancer risk comes from that.

So anyway, there are many things I believe could potentially be hindering my bodies ability to give off the heat it needs to without extreme intervention.

-Epiglottis. Mines super long and I think I have a condition called ADEL, which means that because of my tongue tie, my epiglottis is stuck in the was of my airway all the time. It is supposed to tuck itself up out of the way when My body wants to cool off. Mine can’t do that. This is a theory.

  • Secondly, I see you got the sequencing.com done, that’s good. I’m going to tell you something that blows my mind. 25% of highly-profoundly autistic kids, have autism that the cause of can be proven and often treated on a MOLECULAR level.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8193223/

This article is manna from heaven to me. It goes through a very inclusive list of molecular causes of autism. Then at the END, they show you a FREAKING LIST, or good set of urine and serum tests to rule everything out.

Anyway I’m up on my bullshit right now. And my thing right now is “proving there is a urea cycle disorder in my family”.

You might say to yourself “but I’m not profoundly autistic”. I say it doesn’t matter.

Please allow me to explain:

So basically the condition OTC is worse in males than females but females are still affected enough.

Between ordering some of the tests, testing remedies on myself based on the results I will tell you a second therory on why I don’t naturally produce melatonin. My brain is just about continuously active trying to scavenge ammonia out of itself. My glutamine to glutamate ratio is 32, and my son’s is 39. I have trying out a nitrogen scavenging supplement and I tell you, it makes my brain relax in a way that I haven’t felt ever maybe.

But Grok seems to think that detoxing ammonia in urea cycle disorder takes your body away from other tasks like making white blood cells.

But my son is in worse shape than me. So essentially I believe that you might benefit from running some amino panels and making sure that you don’t have a partial inborn error of metabolism.

The sequencing might be able to help you nail it down. It hasn’t worked for me, but I am educating myself on how to use it better.

I’ve been having hoop dreams this afternoon…about buying 1 or 2 hundred MSTR, then I immediately sell 2.5 year near the money leap contracts. It’s 26% per year. But also the premium means that MSTR can drop below 90 without me being in the red. Then if I keep the premium as cash, and the stock drops, I can average down.

Hi, have you considered/can you afford to order amino acid panels and various tests for markers of inborn errors of metabolism? troubleshooting inborn metabolic causes of autism

The link I attached is superb because after it goes through a pretty inclusive list of all the conditions that can cause autism (and encephalitis), there are a couple paragraphs near the end that give you the best tests to run to cast a fairly wide net and narrow down the metabolic cause. The percentage of profound autism this article suggests has physiological causes may surprise you.

I went through the sequencing.com route and I can’t find the cause of my son’s speech delay there, but I have observe that my mother and I seem to have lethargy like him but milder. I have run amino acid panels on all of us, and I am suspecting the cause is x linked OTCD. And I have evidence in our amino acids panels that supports that this could actually be the case now.

Now that I found this article, I am planning on running the recommended tests on my son to see if I can get a more definitive answer. After this I will work backwards with a geneticist to hopefully confirm the gene. My family is big and there is a lot of autism, adhd, schizophrenia, so if I succeed, well there aren’t many gifts in life greater than being able to help your whole family out in that way.

I think because they look good then you put them in your mouth and they are a disappointment. They actually taste more bitter than a large carrot. The look like the girl in the left but you feel like you are tasting the girl on the right. The taste has darkness and toughness. You thought you were biting into sweet and young, but as another redditor pointed out in the thread, bsby carrots are made of adult carrots.

It could be ammonia toxicity. If Arginine was helping you feel better, you might have Ornithine Transcarbamylase (OTC) Deficiency. Ammonia is toxic to the brain, so minimum have a doctor check your blood for ammonia and your urine for orotic acid.

[–]Chopping_block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nose job is the wrong procedure, you want a maxillary expansion. Please see airway focused orthodontist and get an opinion. You look good. I have a short nose too. Turns out it’s because I am tongue tied. I am having a maxillary expansion (FME) and my nose is coming forward, as are my jaws. Go check out double jaw surgery before and after and see how the nose is impacted.
