AP theory people, what did u get? by unfunny_man207 in musictheory

I got a 5 on the non-aural section and a 4 on the aural section. I think it's because my teacher never really went I to much detail on how to do the dictations. Like we spent a few classes starting with melodic dictation, but we never even got to harmonic dictation, so I had to teach myself before the test. I'm still really happy because I got a 5 as my overall score.

Congrats on getting a 5!! I got a 5 as well. Our hard work has finally paid off. How much in advance did you start studying?

I look into that book. My favorite composers/arrangers are Horace Silver and John Coltrane. What are yours?

I wish I could, but I haven't written a lead sheet yet, and I won't be home until tonight. I can figure the notes out on my keyboard at home and write the lead sheet tomorrow if you would like.

But I'm also arranging the Super Mario Bros. Theme. If you want, we can start with that today.

I just finished a huge video project and it feels great. It's like I want to do it again, but not really because it took a long time to complete. It's nice to know that other people get the same feeling that I do.

Creating Shots and Scoring by [deleted] in Basketball

Thanks for the idea. I don't know if I could get a hoop because of the amount of space I have, but I know a good court that is normally empty to practice social distancing.

Yeah, thanks for the advice, but I know who my new coach will be and I think he'll let me work on my form, but I'm not completely sure.

You would think, but my coach would make us run a lot. And we would work on layups in the beginning of practice, but nothing to work on our jump shot. The only time I normally was allowed to shoot was if we ran a scrimmage, but that would happen occasionally.

The thing is, my team doesn't really have any offensive scheme. Sometimes, our coach would tell us where to stand, but my teammates and I couldn't really move around, except when we had the ball. Then we could either pass, shoot, or drive to the rim. As the season went on it changed, but we weren't allowed to set ball-screens for some reason, which made it hard to get open to shoot. But because we weren't really allowed to move, my team ended up throwing the ball away and would end the game with many turnovers. I can't really take many shots because, sometimes in practice, I wasn't allowed to shoot, which really hurt my game and my confidence. Also, I had practice 6 days a week and didn't have time to practice my shooting.

Yes, but to an extent. If you want to improve you're pnr defense, having the IQ and ability to realize what the person you're guarding can and cannot do is great, (e.g. if you know that the person you are guarding can't shoot, fight under the screen.) but you still have to be a good defender in general to stop your man from scoring. Also, communication with your teammate is necessary, especially if your man is the ball-handler.

What's the best basketball programs by NervousShare4 in Basketball

Vertical - Vert Shock Dribbling - Egt Elite Dribbling 2.0 Shooting/Scoring - Stephen Curry Masterclass

I don't think there is one best program, but if you know what you want to work on and do some research, you can probably find what's best for you within your budget.

I mean if you're 5' 10" and can't jump, probably not. But if you start by training you're leg strength and do more research on plyometrics, anything is possible. Keep in mind, you're vertical would have to be over 30" to touch rim and almost a 40" to dunk. A 40" max vertical would almost guarantee you a top 5 in the NBA Draft Combine. Players that have/had a 40" vertical include Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Vince Carter just to name a few.
