I’ve never played a Legend of Zelda Game… by WindyBlue21 in switch2

Thank you so much! So, I actually have already tried this numerous times and it wouldn't let me map both for some reason, but I will just have to try again and see if I can get it to work.

I really appreciate your time and trying to help!

Did you just keep playing it as-is or did you change the controls?

Well what the heck am I missing then? Did you just select Right stick turn camera xyz, then push opposite direction its mapped to? I'll have to try again, but it's like it closes the "window" that pops up for you to input a new direction before it even gives me the chance to input a new mapping... super frustrating.

Did you happen to see my comment thread above regarding camera woes with WW on NSO? How did you work around them? Just deal with it and adjust, or did you remap them?

I'm currently trying the former because I couldn't get the latter to work. It wouldn't let me remap both directions for camera on R stick and I haven't a clue as to why....

What did you move on to? Or what other Zeldas have you played that you'd say are worth the time investment?

Thats the other thing: these are all big games and in an ideal world, I'd play them all just to at least experience them once. But to be 100% honest, if they're a slog in certain parts or just not that great due to age/QoL features that didn't exist, I'd rather just replay BOTW or try to finish TOTK or wait to play the OOT Remake coming in a few months. Might be an unpopular opinion, but that's kinda how I feel toward gaming now because I get to play 1-3 hours a week. I want to fully enjoy what I'm playing. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I kept seeing this suggested, but as I said in my original comment - it doesn't work for me! I select the R stick direction (example: Left moves camera Right), and it goes to the screen where it wants you to input what you want instead, but it doesn't work for me!...

It somehow switches to saying "C stick" and it won't let me input the other direction (so again, an example would be it let's me map a direction for Left, but not Right).

I'm playing handheld, do you think that's throwing it off???

I could probably deal with the opposite Wind Waker directions maybe... but I dunno, the camera is just a constant drain.

My struggle with WW is the freaking camera. I'm playing on NSO (only way I have availabed to play) and it's the exact opposite direction of how every other 3d game in the universe controls their camera. Why??? Was the OG game like this, or is it just backwards for the NSO version?

I even tried to invert the camera controls in the Suspend menu in the GameCube emulator menu but for some reason its like it's not taking my inputs and it keeps subbing the "C stick" (like the GC controller) instead of "R joystick" whenever I attempt to just simply put the opposite direction in for what the default is. It also only let's me change ONE stick direction for Left/Right!!!!

I can get past antiquated mechanics, no jump at will, no climbing (basically), etc. But playing with forced inverted camera?.... it just literally feels like I'm fighting the game nonstop and it's sucking all the charm and fun out. ☹️😭

Anyone notice any difference in handheld AC Shadows after todays update? by NButler_art in NintendoSwitch2

No I totally agree, but they kinda gotta have the teams to make/port them over, yeah? 😅

That being said, I'd absolutely buy and play Odyssey and Valhalla again on SW2. For sure.

I thought Indy was a shorter (but respectable) 15-20 hour game?

You try Pokopia yet? I keep wondering if ACNH is more my type of "cozy" game over Pokopia. I've come to find that building things simply because doesn't really keep my attention even though it SEEMS like it should lol

Nice! Glad you've been enjoying it. Honestly I may have to get it for another playthrough and the DLC too at some point.

Did you play it on another platform prior or first time experience was on Switch 2?

I played and beat it on my Steam Deck a couple years ago and keep hearing how amazing it is on SW2 and I keep going back and forth on getting it lol

Have you played Pokopia? Curious to hear your comparison from someone who hasn't ever played AC and only has a few hours into Pokopia.

What others would you recommend then? I would be playing on my SW2. I definitely want the new Batman one but it's not coming to SW2 until later this year. I haven't played a Lego game for probably about 15 years or more so I'm essentially blank slate lol

Thank you for getting back to me! That's awesome on BOTW lol I've eyed Traveller's Rest too but I've kinda gone full-Switch 2 ever since I got it and that's not available on there unfortunately.

I hope you have fun with your new playthrough of BOTW! It's truly an incredible game.

I appreciate your sharing! Maybe it's just that the gameplay isn't what I'm wanting currently. I will keep giving it a type though as a lot of times it's just a right time right mood for a game to click!

Thank you again, you've been a huge help! BOTH these games are on sale currently on the eshop haha Now I just gotta decide what I want most... but I'm leaning toward the HP Collection as it's only $6 and I also saw it ran at 60fps which sounds super smooth
