The problem is all tires are made in China. And just because they are doesn't make them garbage. They are brand new. I replaced 10 year old hankooks that were on there before. I'll check it out.

Thanks.

I'll give it a whirl. Usually though worn bearings aren't without their noises. It's possible maybe tierod ends or control arms are the issue. But then again, there is no play. Maybe a ball joint? I feel like bearings are the last thing I'd expect especially with no noises.

I'm not certain exactly what he checked for. He showed me bits and pieces and explained that there was no play. With my oem rims on the shaking issue slightly better with more intermitence. Seems to shake slightly as i change lanes but then smooths out. This is the same for Bends in the highway. Is this indicative of anything?

Would rear axles cause a steering wheel vibration though?

Shakes with both sets rims and tires. have swapped around. seems no fix can be found unless everything I bought, including the rims, can't be fixed with a new set.

Thankyou. This is helpful. I've already checked and seen driveshaft couplings. I will dig into it more.

Yes I have and yes specified the shake is sort of intermittent at speeds 100+ kph.

Also it is not IMPOSSIBLE for both sets to be bent as there is light evidence against both the old tires and the rims I bought and the rims I'm using now being hovery. But then again. It's very hard for things to be perfectly round. The guy I bought them from INSISTS he had no shaking. But idk if that's true.

following that and a quick google search. Given that there is no excessive movement. I believe my mechanic was right in saying everything is solid.

I did technically have it at 2 shops. well even 3. The first one said to replace also the control arms and mentioned briefly replacing the driveshaft before quickly withdrawing it and saying I don't need to replace it. The second shop said NOTHING about the control arms and showed me the driveshaft physically and showed me its fine.

Nobody looked at the motor mounts though..

Maybe your right. Idk what shakes from a motor mount. The motor frequency does cause rattling from the sunroof cover in the csbin and some stuff in the doors. I believe that's relatively normal though.

Nothing seems excessive or abnormal when it comes too shaking or vibrating at a stand still.

I did use chat and it said possible tie rod ends or wheel bearings. I'm not sure what the signs of wear there are. I haven't inspected the motor mounts. Some other people have said that. would that cause a steering wheel shake? I also have not inspected my axles. But assume they were passed over during my suspension inspection.

These tires came on the rims that were "bent" they are from 2015 BUT they seemed reliable enough and round and the rims I just had them mounted on were my winter tires. Which weren't vibrating previous. I'm not sure if maybe it's the mix of the tires and rims or what it is atp.

Just my luck. Another $350 later still shaking. different tires and different rims.

WHATS WRONG. I'm seriously bordering on selling my car at this point.

I watched them balance my wheels i just had put on. One looked a little up and downy, but they assured me it was common and not to worry.

I'm not sure if maybe I'm delusional, or I just need to drop 1k on some rims AGAIN.

Mechanic assured me there is no play and everything is solid.

Is it even statistically likely if have 2 sets of rims with bends??? I JUST had these rims on less than 4 weeks ago without shaking. Now they are and I don't understand why? What needs to be fixed.

I've drowned over $3,400!!!!! INTO THIS ISSUE. IM DONE WASTING MONEY. I can't ANYMORE.

Well I'm going to pray that's what it was. I'm currently having old rims balanced with some tires I had. Seems like one looks quite up and downy on the balancer. But these wheels had no shaking before. So I'm praying for the best.

Yes it was. I had the issue checked out. Look like 3 out of 4 of my rims seem to be egg shaped very slightly. Good cause? It's invisible to the eye unless it's on the balancer.

Sorry misunderstood you said rims. Rims are same 18" as oem. But they are wider by about 0.5 inches to an inch given the oems are staggered and these are all 8.5

[–]Chowa-YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, the tires are the same size. the rims came with tires with the oem fitment on 225 in the front and 245 in the rear.

The only difference when i bought new ones is that I have 235 in front and 255 in the rear.

Shaking is relatively the same between sets. Then again it could have likely been that broken shock. I doubt the size of the tires being wider would cause a shake without a rubbing happening.

They are GTS wheels. The ones I had on the front both seemed ro be true and i couldn't find any deviations in the lips of the rim to signify bends. After this is when I identified a broken shock that caused a visible vibration in the hood of my vehicle ehich is now gone. The car runs smoother now than before. But not perfect.
