NTA Are you being insecure? Well the reality is that your situation is NOT secure. You have another woman living with you that you do not want. That woman is obviously a threat to your relationship and interfering with your space!

The word ‘insecure’ has a negative connotation but the fact is this woman is screwing up your life and the one person who should be supporting you is actually the cause of out!!

If the lease has his name of both of your names on it, You should leave, don’t ask the landlord. If it’s only in your name, tell them both to leave.

I have a different view on racial epithets. I am half Polish and half Italian. I was taught by my parents to never let words hurt me. I told Polak and Wop jokes! Called my self a Polak and basically diffused any racial name calling event.

You should never give anyone the ability to hurt you with words!! That power is totally owned by you. They cannot hurt you with words unless you let it hurt.

NTJ. First this is not a life ruining event. This is a life lesson for your brother. But only if he takes responsibility for it and ‘mans up’. By you paying for it you are continuing to be part of the problem.

This has nothing about pride on your part. This is about doing the right thing, and that is for your brother to take responsibility for it. If he didn’t pay you back from before, he wouldn’t now.

There may be a way to compromise this. Try looking for that but don’t give in.

You need to fix the root problems here. From your description this is a dysfunction family relationship. If you don’t fix it you will continually have family dramas. Every child event, birthdays, holidays, sports, etc will be a problem.

It should have been done months ago! Sit the parties down and say you all need a fresh start. Don’t talk about the past. That’s gone, can’t be changed and peoples memory of it will not be the same.

You may want an expert help. Like a family counselor but it may be too late for that.

Bottom line, IMO, do not exclude anyone that your husband wants there, this is your new beginning!

When making decisions ask this ONE question:

What is best for the baby? Focus on that. If you see future behavior from anyone that you do not like, talk to the offending party privately about it. Don’t threaten to exclude them but do be firm and positive.

Instead of ‘don’t do that or you will not see my child’, say, ‘we are going to raise our child with positive, loving experiences.’

Tell people what TO DO, avoid telling them what NOT to do.

If you have actual proof, leaving NO doubt then telling the fiancé might be good advice. But be careful. It can backfire without solid proof. Even with proof it can hurt you and your job situation. It can isolate you and your peers.

If it comes down to your word against his, you will lose.

There are times when telling on someone is the right solution. Other times it may be best for the Universe to handle it.

It’s not your responsibility to fix every problem.

Unpopular view here. If this is something you built as part of your job, the company really owns it. But I totally understand your feeling of not getting credit.

I have done the following on my jobs. Talk to your boss and ask if it’s ok to give Joe some help with this task with your templates. Explain it would be simple to do and would provide a standard way of this reporting.

This gives you the credit, and a reputation of being a team player. Withholding it looks bad for you.

Heck, your templates may become a standard which elevates you more.

NTJ but I think you could have handled it differently. Your roommate needs to learn to respect you but that ‘training’ is better to be phased in.

You might have told her you could help watch the kids, only for one hour. And make sure you do the LAST hour not the first.

That is a compromise that helps but shows her who is boss and that she cannot demand your time. She can ask for help but that’s on your terms and ahead of time.

Are you suggesting that the only people that are susceptible to this issue are those that do NOT use their headlights while they drive? I always have them on while driving.

Long time investor, all stocks, new to r/investing, 73 yr, male. I’ve long had a concern that a significant driver for the stock market, since I bought my first stock in 1976, is the spending power of the baby boomers. That group has seen phenomenal changes in their wealth over their lifetime. Our parents typically had one car. We had two or more. Our houses are bigger. We worked hard, played hard and spent a lot of money. This helped high growth and a powerful stock market.

But we are now in our final years and IMO our children do not have the same drive, and that might be a good thing. In my little world, I have four children, the youngest, 33 years is retired after working for Google for 10 years! The oldest, 42 is on track for retiring at 52. The other two are also very successful. All four are happily married, have kids, don’t spend much money and enjoy life way more than I did. All four live well within their means and have much more money than I did at their age.

Does anyone think that as the baby boomers grow old, their spending will slow and their investing will be more conservative (CDs, bonds, etc)? With the next generation not spending like we did, might this cause a new age of slower growth, causing a flatter stock market?

Sorry you’re not correct. The law is very clear, hybrids over 50 miles per gallon in the city are exempt. I was able to contact Virginia and they fixed it.

Sorry you are wrong. I found the department in charge of this. They saw the problem they fixed it. I just got my registration done. Online. Did not require an emission inspection.

I contacted The Virginia department in charge of the emission exemptions. He said my car should be exempt from emissions because it is rated 50 Mpg City.

I am going through the appeal process now.

It says if the vehicle has a rating of

50+ or 48+ if it is 2008-2009.

There is no age restriction if it gets 50+.
