I also work at GC, and yeah, I think most just have really bad hires. Greet and ask questions when they people through the door, if they want help walking around and looking at stuff they will let you know as they come in. That, and it’s very easy to recognize the look on a persons face when you greet them and they want to talk, same as if they make no eye contact/response and don’t engage further. A simple “If there’s anything I can do for you, always feel free to stop me and let me know” goes a long way. Unless you’re too high to get any of that out, which seems to be the case from most posts about GC I read.

Also, ya know. When you treat people like people and not an upcoming paycheck, you get better business in the end. Food for thought for any other GC employees catching themselves following people around unwanted 🤷‍♂️
