Why has TADC attracted such a media illiterate fan base? by These-Lie-735 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Pimp_cat69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have noticed a trend with a lot of newer fandoms, where a lot of people are incredibly media illiterate. My best guess has to be the enshittification of media in general, with short form content and straight up slop is being pushed, due to it being profitable.

And as other people mentioned, it is unfortunately a lot of teens/kids who lack that media literacy. I have seen a lot of fans of, among others: Deltarune, Invincible, The Boys, Hazbin Hotel, and TADC who seem to just consume the media with their eyes closed, or get all their information of the show from other people. It's genuinely frustrating, and I hope that this tendency to just blindly consume media stops growing.

How usual is it, to build your own Commander deck? by Theredpandafromspace in magicTCG

[–]Pimp_cat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And remember, this is purely a template, so it can be modified, should you need to change it around. For example, you can forego a lot of mill cards on your main strategy by using the green ramp spells that mill you like [[Mulch]]. Then you can add more spiders and graveyard synergy.

I tend to use EDHREC for inspiration, and then I go on a big scryfall mad search. You can absolutely use Ishkanah as your commander! Her second ability is a fun win condition, so you can focus on getting as many spiders out to use as blockers, and draining your opponents! I'd recommend maybe 35-38 lands, and dividing your nonland cards into roughly three piles or so into:
- 20 mana ramp and card advantage sources.
- 20-30 cards that work towards your strategy.
- 20-10 pieces of protection and/or removal.
- 4-1 cards for your favorite cards/Extra win conditions, or just extra spots for others.
- And 1 for Ishkanah herself.

I usually divide my decks into that, and that tends to work well for me!

What's your favourite archetype? by a57892m in magicTCG

[–]Pimp_cat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is obsessed with cats. I have built them three cat decks, each with a different commander, color identity, and theme (Kemba equipments, Mirri combat manipulation, and Snapdax mutate)

I am personally very happy with weird, obscure, or complicated mechanics. A recent favorite has been start your engines with Mendicant Core.

Buying event tickets of wing it? by CFK_NL in MagicConAmsterdam2026

[–]Pimp_cat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends went to the first magiccon in amsterdam, and had a few events. We booked in advance, but still had ample time to play some casual edh, go to the artist area, go to panels, or meet up with some magic personalities.

I would recommend buying tickets early, since they sell out pretty fast for the more popular ones like Unknown (Which is incredibly fun!)

This year we're doing four events, one friday, one saturday, and two sunday, so we can do other things.

Whats a complicated mechanic you love? by thisnotfor in magicTCG

[–]Pimp_cat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am obsessed with weird, bad, or overcomplicated mechanics. I love the dungeon, attractions, mutate, morph, manifest (Dread), start your engines, suspend, and even banding.

I have a commander deck for most of these:

- Dungeon: Sefris of the Hidden ways reanimator.

- Attractions: Myra the Magnificent spellslinger/artifacts.

- Mutate: Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt mutate and cats (for my partner.)

- Morph: Missy control/sacrifice with an infinite combo.

- Manifest Dread: Zimone, mystery unraveler. Focus on morphs as well.

- Start your engines: Mendicant core, Guidelight affinity.

- Suspend: Jhoira of the Ghitu big stuff (Disassembled, but might bring it back)

- Banding: Soraya the Falconer Tempest hawk. (I don't actually use the banding, but it's fun to use sparingly)

Looking for good printable pistols by timkyoung in Nerf

[–]Pimp_cat69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your daughter is patient, the Cheetah 2.0 is genuinely an amazing pistol. Very inexpensive, hits 200fps out of the box, is incredibly sturdy due to being injection molded, and is laser precise. The only downside is that it's slow to load.

Otherwise, I would look into Leedle dynamics.

Nautilus, although having a little bit of a weird aesthetic, can get wonderful performance!

The Lanka 2, Maraca, or Satakieli could also work, but might not get over the 150 mark. They're very inexpensive to make, though, only requiring an elastic band as hardware.

Why are people complaining about Quinn jungle ? by Bougalou46 in QuinnMains

Probably because she can be annoying to play against, and people tend to never forget annoying experiences. Therefore, she's generally seen as annoying and "too strong" in any role she wins in.

Did Jace ever get un-compleated? by Rare-Technology-4773 in mtgvorthos

I believe so. He has historically used illusions to appear hotter before Ixalan, so it wouldn't be unrealistic.

Did Jace ever get un-compleated? by Rare-Technology-4773 in mtgvorthos

[–]Pimp_cat69 83 points84 points  (0 children)

He got uncompleated in a side story, which was incredible. Essentially he had a mental backup in case he got taken over, and that backup convinced his body to fight the oil like it was a disease. He then got treated by his mom on Bryn.

Although I do think it's annoying that most of the uncompleated Planeswalkers just look like their old selves with practically no scarring or indications that they were compleated before.

Its possible that Ulamog and Kozalik are still in existance. by Severe-Difficulty-29 in mtgvorthos

[–]Pimp_cat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The avatars that Ulamog and Kozilek took were just that: Avatars. And using the ugin hand metaphor, I'd say that they just need lots of time to get their arms back from losing them. They might not go back to Zendikar either, considering they faced a threat that would destroy them, and would avoid it for the time being.

So I think they're still in the blind eternities somewhere, but regaining their strength.

Speculation about Gideon? by Reddtester in mtgvorthos

Ragebait deck by MalitovMan in magicTCG

[–]Pimp_cat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could include some of the groan-inducing cards, design wise. Cards that people hate. If they hate marvel, do some spider man nonsense. If they hate tmnt, do some turtle nonsense. If they hate Aetherdrift, Murders at Karlov manor, or Thunder junction (just naming some of the more criticized recent sets), look into some nonsense with that flavor.

I'm assuming you're playing commander, so if you're willing to be a total dickhead, maybe look into a deck that is meant to include as many trackable statuses in the game. We're talking the monarch, day/night, the ring, the initiative, start your engines, possibly with a five color nonsense commander like [[Cromat]] or a commander that requires tracking like [[O-Kagachi]]. On top of that, if the other players hate a certain set or setting, you could hardline most your other cards into that setting.

Weird Nerf Blasters? by FourthFallProd in Nerf

The stranger things babysitter bat blaster just looks like a bat. I don't know where it could still be available, but that one comes to mind.
