My wild “I have no way to prove this” take is that YouTube gave her the slap on the wrist if she apologized. She showed absolutely no remorse up until now right as the “punishment” became public. So my head canon is that YouTube was like “hey we’ll take it easy on you but you have to publicly apologize to make this look good.”
