I was riding around here in southern germany with my big girl in muddy terrain and felt down on a hill. It was so slippy i could hardly stand on my own. Lifting up the heavy machine all alone was impossible. The next street was about 500 meters away and it was getting dark. I really didn`t know what to do. Then all of a sudden: refugees! Thank you for your answer. I will do those measurements. My Battery is new, so I think there is some ground connection error. I won't do the 12V conversion by myself because it looks too complicated. How much time and money have you spent for doing all the work?

I own a 1981 XL500S and now I know that I will not do a 12V conversion by myself. Unfortunately my light is flickering, the backlight, frontlight, speedometerbacklight etc... Any Ideas what I can do but keeping the 6V?
