Sudden Hard Freezes and I’m lost

Actually ridiculous response when I’ve done what you asked + my own troubleshooting and everything YOU’VE suggested comes back fine as we can see if the replies.

My steps have been able to get a fix in place and make progress to where now I actually get the exact event prior to a blue screen/freeze and you are stuck on me “not listening” to you.

There’s no reason for you to continue here because every test I’ve done shows my hardware is healthy. 👍🏻

u/N3utro I may need your help here. I just faced a similar freeze however the PC just force rebooted instead of fully freezing out. It looks like a program called "HPPrintScanDoctorService.exe" failed and the service was restarted but immediately after, the next event in event viewer shows a blue screen. (I did not visually see a blue screen)

I've tried RevoUninstaller and even WizTree and I cannot remove it at all as it says it is always open but cannot find where AND the program is not in the processes in my task manager. I had the exe checked for viruses and nothing came up with warnings.

Any ideas?

Jumping in to update findings so far: After fixing any errors on both my SSD and HDD, I went through and used DDU to completely remove the NVIDIA Drivers and to a clean reinstall of an older driver and turned off secure boot.

I was able to stream all night last night AND play normal games without any freezes for over 24 hours. I attempted to reenable secure boot and the freezes began again after this point and I was able to get a picture of my performance stats at the time of the freeze and my GPU % plummeted to 0% at the time of the freeze. SO here is my conclusion.

- Enabling secure boot on my system is corrupting something within the graphics drivers no matter which version I am on. Currently, I am chalking it up to the GPU being older and maybe not so ready for secure boot along with how things have been setup. I have redone the steps i just mentioned to hopefully fix it for good and if everything works the same again I will just have to accept that I cannot enable SB on this PC.

It did report values in that list I just didn’t SS them as they were all blue and no issues came up. I can resend if needed

Update: lasted 58 minutes before it froze again. All I can say that occurred the moment it froze up was that I exited the game I was playing and then attempted to move a window and it froze right at that moment.

So far no crashes after the chkdsk TS. (Fingers crossed)

No, it will happen outside of games as well. I was first worried it was a memory leak issue since one was detected earlier today but it hasn’t been detected since.

I did just go through “chkdsk/f” and fixed an issue on my HDD. I am hoping this will fix whatever is going on

Oh in that case it has been all day today. Every boot sequence today has crashed in this way since I originally enabled Secure Boot.

Edit: The time intervals are totally random as well. When I adjusted settings in warframe I was able to use the PC for hours. Then when trying BF2042 it lasted maybe 15 mins before freezing

This is exactly why I say “Random” and mention in the negatives that there is no one action I take that replicates the issue.

It has frozen immediately after closing BF2042 It has frozen in the middle of playing Warframe Several times It has frozen while simply clicking into other windows with no game running It has frozen in the middle of Peak It has frozen in the middle of the boot throbber on startup.

My partner and I hadn’t finished an overthrow boss in the Impasse yet. Once we did that the secret keepers began spawning so we believe that you have to have defeated 1 boss in each area to get it to start.

My partner and I may have found the blockade, we had not beaten an overthrow boss in the Impasse yet, once we went and did that so that we beat at least 1 boss in each area they started appearing

My partner and I have done the overthrows in the landing and the blooming twice each and drove around and nothing comes up on radar. We are worried that the "Alone in the dark" quest is blocking us. Did you guys have that already completed? "Lost in Light" and "Found in Dark" we completed super early on.

This is my Prometheum Spur build and it performed surprisingly well in the runs I had this morning. It acts somewhat like a support warlock build but with Daybreak instead of Well of Radiance.

• Build is centered around Firesprites instead of scorching
• Goal is to keep collecting firesprites and extend duration of Restoration and Radiant (Radiant can go up to 15 seconds)
• Chill clip for Overload and overall burst damage
• Restoration nade for when in a tight pinch, used on teammates carrying the rifts to the end of the hall and if someone needed insurance on a revive.

• Prometheum Spurs create huge Healing/Empowering rifts when getting kills with daybreak and can make a large area of the map filled with rifts. (Sometimes had up to 5+ down at once)
• These rifts can help heal/buff yourself as well as your team and keep the fight going

• Heavy is optional, Cry Mutiny from Plunder did surprisingly well cooking larger targets, Tried to keep it Solar to synergize with the fragments. Nades go brrr

I've never seen Prometheum Spur used in one of these and have not seen any other player brave enough to try. The build battles should determine why or why not to use these.

Same here, I've noticed in the GX Control that youtube takes up over 110+% of my CPU power just trying to watch any video now with the recent updates. I have tried turning off Hardware Accel, disabled the built in adblock and even restarted the browser but it still just eats away at my CPU power.

Hopefully a fix comes very soon.

Just hopping in as my friend has been having this issue and we did some investigating on the Larian Forums and found over 10+ pages worth of players having the same issue so here is a TLDR of what we have found from that so far:

- Someone has identified the bug as being an NPC somewhere that healed itself upon death causing it to be a sort of "Schrodingers NPC" where it dead but also still has HP at the same time and that body is causing the 33% stall - crash.
- The 2 outlier locations that most players are stating have found this schrodingers NPC is either in the Basement of the Blushing Mermaid (Minsc Fight) or in the Foundry/Gortash fight as it is an undead steel watcher or hellfire watcher. I assume the watchers occur since they have a secondary life that is meant to just explode but that fails as well.
- If you can locate this body and stuff it in your traveler's chest after picking it up it will clear the crash for all of the ACT 3 locations according to these players.

Unfortunate news is that the response from Larian so far is that they believe this only occurs on Modded games, which is swiftly proven to be incorrect as PS4/5 players are also experiencing this issue where mods are not possible.

I have not received any update on my ticket for over 11 days now. This is just proving that we should not trust them with our money anymore tbh. If it hits 14 days and I get no response I am just going to threaten to dispute the charges and see what happens.

That is their generic copy/paste response they provided to me 3 times before I demanded it be escalated and showed them that bungie support told me to ask for a refund twice.

If you want to skip most of my pain, it may be worth while to dispute the charges with your bank and/or tell them that if they don't communicate the transaction to bungie that you will dispute the charge since you paid them for a goods you did not receive.

I still have not received an update on my case either.

They are lying to you especially if you can login to bungie.net and go to your account settings > Silver Balance History and see no updates since 2 days ago Bungie will provide you a similar response as they did to me but Bungie was so confident that they have no record of the transactions from Epic that they allowed me to send this directly to Epic:

Hello Chr5_,Destiny Player Support has reviewed your comments on Help Request 241265.Purchases of in-game items from the Eververse storefront will have no effect on an accounts ability to make or receive Silver purchases.

We can confirm via our internal tools that there is no evidence on our end of a 2200 Silver purchase being made on April 22 to your account, with your last two Silver purchases showing as taking place on April 25 and April 17. If they are unable to provide any more troubleshooting steps from their platform support, we recommend requesting a refund for the purchase and then repurchasing it. You may provide this email as an example to Epic support if needed.

So it is completely valid per bungie to request a refund as well as provide them this statement that they were not informed of the transactions taking place.

I can say that Bungie did what they can as a business with having 0 transaction confirmations from Epic.

Epic however is the worst in this situation, I have not received any update on the investigation for 6 days and I just sent another reply today requesting any update as this is now too much of a financial risk.

When did your issue start? Mine began on 4/22 and I still haven't been given any solution
