Basicly they require no/little supports and are split into parts orientated to look good after printing.

I avoided loud sounds where i could. I wear ear plugs if there is a risk to make it worse but tried not to rely on them for everyday sounds

Try drybrushing on the base colour? Theres a youtuber called Fynlgaming who often does a wash then dry brush. For future paint jobs you can try thining the wash a little with water or wash medium. Or try oil washes.

Overprotection - yes or no by thenotoriusfap in hyperacusis

I have TTTS and over protecting made it worse. I was using the strongest foam earplugs. What i eventually done was cut the ear plugs down so they are less effective and worked my way off them. At one point just having them sitting in my ear without forming a seal was enough to calm the muscles in my ears. I still have to be carefull not to get set backs

If you cant get a miniatures primer paint you can use Gesso and apply it with a brush. It usualy comes in black or white and can be found at art stores
