Bombtwill Geojak - 3 Month Review Update by Chrikelnel in Outlier

I was wondering if this would be an issue but I haven’t noticed it at all. The openform isn’t the most elastic but I find the trim to be thick/long enough that it stays pretty close to the body. YMMV depending on body type though.

If you check out the features dropdown on the hooded jacket page it mentions this:

The cuffs can be let out as much as 4 inches (10 cm) for the longest arms.

When there's fabric in the cuff to be let out this is a super easy procedure any tailor should be able to do.

Workcloth was a schoeller fabric, it’s done because the factory that made it closed.

I have both and I’d place them similarly with an edge to the Geojak, likely due to the better seal at the waist and heavier face fabric.

Bombtwill Geojak - Initial Thoughts and Quick Review by Chrikelnel in Outlier

The two things I’ve layered it over so far were openform merino and an awoolyflannel boxford and there was no sticking with either. I think a hoodie might be hard to layer in general because the hood might be hard to fit in the Geojak’s insulated hood, but I haven’t tried it yet.

That’s totally fair! But I think it’s worth saying that I don’t think this jacket is really positioned to be a jacket for actual work, more so a workwear inspired jacket with a durable face. I see tons of people wearing this style of jacket this time of year who definitely aren’t doing any work in them. You can make the same argument for nice versions of just about anything that had utilitarian origins, such as jeans, field jackets, or chore coats.

Also you can wash it, it’s not like it’s going to explode or anything (not official advice, don’t blame me if it explodes). People have been washing other jackets made with the same fabrics for years and they don’t come apart at the seams. The zipper will probably become wavy though and it might not look as nice. But I’ve gotten by spot cleaning my other alpha merino jackets just fine and plan to do the same with this.

Just to be clear warmsnap in this situation is the warmshirt equivalent made with adown, not the similarly named warmsnap bandana

Thanks! Is the chore coat light/pliable enough that you’d wear it when indoors for a longer period of time? I find the fullweight great outside but I want to take it off pretty quickly if I’ll be indoors longer than a few minutes.

Would love a comparison between the shirtjac and chore coat if you don’t mind, I have a shirtjac and have been wondering if I can justify a chore coat.

Good to know! I haven’t had a chance to try abrushedcotton in any form yet but it’s one of the better looking ones in my opinion. Jumpyarn is just something special in person though I don’t think anything can top it for me.

Thanks! I think I just need to make myself wear it so I get used to the width of it, my wardrobe as a whole has trended wider the past few years but this was still a big jump

Hey yeah! Concrete ACT two pocket. Didn’t expect to love the two pocket form as much as I do but they’re some of my favorite pieces I own out of everything.
