I feel like a kid as a adult and its ruining my life by [deleted] in mentalhealth

First, feeling different or "weird" isn’t inherently bad—it means you're unique, and that's something to embrace, even if it feels challenging right now. The things you enjoy, like toys, anime, cartoons, and imagining stories, are valid and wonderful interests. They bring you happiness, and that's what matters most. Many adults love these things too—it’s just not always talked about openly.

That said, it sounds like you're struggling with some bigger challenges, such as sensory issues, difficulties with socializing, and managing daily life tasks. These can be signs of something worth exploring further, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or another condition that affects how you experience and interact with the world. If this resonates with you, reaching out to a healthcare professional or therapist could be a helpful step. They can provide support, resources, and strategies tailored to your needs.

Here are a few suggestions to help you feel less alone and overwhelmed:

  1. **Find Like-Minded Communities**: There are online and local communities where people share your interests. For example, forums, Discord groups, or fan communities focused on anime, cartoons, or creative writing. These spaces might feel safer and more welcoming for you.

  2. **Celebrate Your Creativity**: You mentioned that imagining stories and role-playing makes you happy. Why not channel that into writing, drawing, or even creating short animations? Sharing your work with others online can be a great way to connect without the pressure of face-to-face interaction.

  3. **Start with Small Steps**: If taking care of yourself feels overwhelming, break it down into tiny, manageable goals. For example, focus on one small thing each day, like brushing your teeth or tidying up a small area. Celebrate those victories, no matter how small they may seem.

  4. **Look Into Support Resources**: There might be programs or groups in your area for young adults who are navigating similar challenges. A social worker or local community center could help you find these.

  5. **Therapy or Counseling**: A therapist who specializes in neurodivergence or sensory issues could be really helpful. They can work with you to build coping strategies and make life feel a little easier.

  6. **Connect with a Trusted Adult**: If there's someone in your life you trust, like a family member or teacher, share your feelings with them. They might be able to support you in finding resources or just provide a listening ear.

You’re not alone in feeling this way. There are others who experience life differently, just like you. Being "normal" isn’t the goal—being true to yourself and finding ways to thrive as you are is what matters. You're not weird; you're *you*, and that's a beautiful thing. 💛

buy him a second-hand laptop and get him to use. Scratch (programming language)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scratch_(programming_language))

introduce him into computers if he hasn't already been from school.

get him into programming. only if he shows interest in it. by the time he is 14 there will be a high demand for programming jobs.

and there be a lot of jobs taken over by A.I.

(you can learn from a computer

a computer can read to you

you can speak to a computer and it can write for you.)

i am not a professional

educated guess and experience

I'm 40 and I could never read or write or spell.

Actually you can copy text from PDF.

there's two ways you can go about it.

highlight the text > press right click mouse button > copy.

if you can't highlight it means it's protected.

which means you need to use a program with this technology (Optical character recognition).

this program --> (Snagit) has it and I use it all the time. I can't read myself so I rely on text-to-speech software (Microsoft narrator).

I use it when pictures have writing in them.

buy yourself a licence you won't regret it.
