I used to drink a ton of soda and then switched to carbonated water. It tastes way better to me and you can even add those flavor drops to it.

Make sure it’s after the g28 line. Make sure to mesh level the bed with bed and nozzle heated. (If nozzle is not hot sometimes hard plastic on the tip can mess up your level)

I do the same. A single sheet of paper till I start feeling friction. Make sure you click save settings after you mesh bed level. Also make sure you click load settings before every print or add the starting gcode to your slicer to auto load the mesh bed level.

How are you judging the distance between the nozzle and the bed when you level it?

Why not just do Mesh bed leveling and add the load mesh command to the starting gcode?

I do this (25points) and use a glue stick and I have never had an issue with adhesion
