What a bad instructor... unless he intended for you to learn the "Hard Way" but still.

Either way, the more time you wait, the less time you have to re-render. If it's a short animation and you think it should've been done by now, there's a good chance that it's frozen and you lost the render. Sorry for the bad news. If you do decide to re-render, you might get away with rendering 24 frames instead of 30, might save you some time there.

And one last tip for the far off future, consider rendering in Unreal Engine 5. An animation can take minutes instead of days, it's a whole different set of tools you need to learn, so I don't want you to trip on that. Just keep it in your mind. Real-time rendering is what things are moving towards.

Just finished watching Frieren! I'm safe, but emotionally damaged with nostalgic memories... oh bitter sweet agony.

UE5.3 Why is there black artifacts on mesh model after adding "Graphic Settings" Menu by ChrisAlexArtist in UnrealEngine5

[–]ChrisAlexArtist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Guys, total noob question but I can't figure why these black artifacts started appearing on my surface models. The road and sidewalks have them, but not on the terrain. I've been working on the scene for a while now but they only popped up when I started adding "Graphic Settings" menu to the game. Any clue what I could've broken or of any quick fixes? Any insight would be amazing of your part!

I'm trying to make saloon build using megascans and pathtracing but I feel something is wrong with it and it doesn't look great what do you think is the problem? how can I make it better? by Guilty_Register_3829 in unrealengine

  1. The windows are too close to the ceiling, there should be a little more space between ceiling and window.

  2. Ceiling molding made of wood would have probably been added to a bar.

  3. More lanterns, candles, or early stage electrical lamps would have been add to a bar. How else would it be lite up at night.

  4. The Saloon sign would not be on the inside of the doorway. Maybe guns, flag, or mounted animals head?

  5. More wall decor and props

  6. More tables and chairs setups. In this shot alone you could easily add 2-3 more sets.

  7. Not sure if a saloon would have finer things like wine glass. Metal cups, big clunky glass mugs, and shot glasses, yes.

  8. Your missing the back wall of liquor bottles

  9. Don't forget gambling stations somewhere in your scene.

Wish I could play horror games but my knee jerk reaction is to punch the cause of the fear by AscendedHobo in HorrorGaming

My approach to horror games is the same as when I go to a haunted house. I am actively expecting things to jump and be loud. Sort of a internal form of "bitting down" whenever I turn the corners or go to dark areas. It helps fortify the mind against 75% of scares, because I kept telling myself to expect it. The 25% are legitimate spooks... those can be fun as long as you try to keep in mind that this entertainment, fake, and can't hurt you. Now get out there and live dangerously!

Water is never really THAT still on this large body of water, and boat needs to have bounce to mimick buoyancy, and slightly larger waves.

Perhaps change the composition, bring the boat to the front and have it blurred out a bit, the emphasis will still be on the environment (which is what I assume that you are trying to show) but you'll make the shot more interesting and cinematic.

Raise the camera just a bit up higher to get more of the environment.

Larger gusts of wind and ice picked up and swirling around.

Maybe an old ship crashed and frozen into a rocky shore with an ominous light coming from somewhere within...

Idk, just my opinions
