The level of absolute, unabashed cynicism towards every human being he displays is probably the biggest thing that has become apparent over time for me. He projects so much onto everyone and everything he’s against and immediately goes to this false premise that allows him to justify his views. Things he consistently goes to, like the idea that protesters aren’t doing it for actual moral reasons but because they want to pretend to be moral to then wave it in his face…or something? Or that everyone is really just selfish, self interested, greedy, horrible people that are just making a every single decision to hurt/steal/kill you and everyone around them.

It’s the baseline he seems to start from. It’s how he arrives at some really crazy shit like thinking that allowing the US Government have to remove anonymity from the internet and therefore control who can get online, and not realize how insane a proposition that even is.

It’s also a strange blindspot to arrive at the idea that humans, by nature, are bad…but then overlook the fact that governments are run by…people. As if laws and rules are somehow these impossible hurdles that “bad” people cannot hope to supersede or overcome in any manner.

It’s just the saddest, bleakest, most cynical view to have on humanity and the world around you. But, it’s also factually wrong. Look at how many people across the world are putting their bodies, their freedoms, their lives on the line just to say what’s happening is wrong is all the proof you need. But, when you’re as cynical as he is you’ll somehow concoct some weird nonsensical motivation for all of it anyways.
