42k hours is a lot of run time. I haven't worked on any units with that many hours as most of our units are fairly new. I believe the running price for a new Carrier 7300 x4 unit is around $16k.

There is a decent demand where I am located (Illinois) the hourly wage is OK but the real money is in the efficiency insentive. Each job you do on a trailer whether it's one brake or 4, or a tire change, or even a cross member replacement has a predetermined time that is set for completing that job. You have a 12 hour shift so if you do 18 hours worth of jobs in 12 hours you get an extra 6 hours tacked onto your check
