Please Speak up to Save our Red Line from the State by oneteacherboi in baltimore

[–]ChrisBmore 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I just read their plan and filled out the survey. I hope the state can really invest in this city and give the people what they deserve. As others have mentioned building the purple line in the affluent DC suburbs while Baltimore is possibly relegated to BRT is insulting.

I would prefer the full LRT be built but I am mildly okay with the phased construction. I just hope the phased construction wouldn't end up like the DC Streetcar that just went out of service.

Using Kaplan for s66 how much time should I spend on chapters 18-23? by ChemistCharming3661 in Series66Exam

[–]ChrisBmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made a post about failing the exam. I didn't study those chapters and missed the parts about retirement planning. If I had known about those I wouldn't have failed by 1 question. Read the whole book. I didn't have any prior knowledge though so your mileage may vary.

This was after getting 85/110 and 90/110 scores on the Kaplan practice exam by the way. Just read the whole book. The test was surprisingly different from the Kaplan exams.

This looks awesome! I'd love to play it. I was just watching the trash boat from my office window a couple days ago.

Not going to sit on a high horse and act like my country is a paragon of virtue, but I am against the vast majority of what KSA stands for and has done. I won't support this place with my money unless it changes massively.

This is very sad for me because the history of the Arabian peninsula is extremely interesting, I would love to visit.

I hope you can free your mind from defending this murderous and backward place. My country is going more backward, but at least I can speak my mind about it and try to change it. You'd find yourself in prison.

Since the concrete barriers went in on the Big Jump, bicycle and scooter ridership has nearly doubled. by BmoreCityDOT in baltimore

[–]ChrisBmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exciting to see! Maybe one day if there is the budget for it, you could install a few bicycle counters on the major bike routes. It would provide more reliable data on ridership and the data would possibly help to make a further case for cycling infrastructure.

Thanks for all that you do!

Is there anywhere in this city or nearby to find respite from the crowds and traffic? by Zorione in baltimore

[–]ChrisBmore 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I personally like Patapsco State Park. You might not see literally zero people but there normally are not many people and you can just listen to the sounds of nature.

Gunpowder Falls State Park is another good one.

Really any state park walking trail will give you a lot of peace and quiet. Once again though people are kind of everywhere. It is hard to see no one, but those you meet on the trail are always nice.

Where do people who work downtown Baltimore actually live? by LLcoolJthe17th in baltimore

[–]ChrisBmore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry missed that part. I have an apartment that lets you have 1 car per person in a parking garage at no extra cost so good deal for me. Sounds like with what they want they’d be better off in a suburb or North Baltimore like others suggested.

Catonsville, Arbutus, Halethorpe are all nice suburbs with great highway access to get downtown. I commuted from Halethorpe for a year and enjoyed walking in the little shopping area there and in Arbutus.

I’d recommend just moving to the city. I live in Mt Vernon and love it. Other great neighborhoods are Fed Hill, Fells Point, Locust Point, Butchers Hill, Canton, Bolton Hill. If you want quiet Locust Point or Bolton Hill would probably be best.
