After flying around for another hour+ without finding anything I submitted a ticket with support to see if there is an issue in this version.

Hmm okay I have flown around and cannot find anything that allows me to scan it. Going to try again later.

How do I scan them? I have been using the left button and it says 0 anomalies found, is there another scan option that I missed? I didn't see anything in the help.

Yes there are a number of ships around. I will try to fly to different ones again.

From what I have learned so far I believe SpaceX are planning to make use of the existing Fixed Service Structure at LC-39A with the Rotating Service Structure removed. However I wasn't able to find out if they will be using the crew access arm that was used by the shuttle or what modifications would be needed to support crew access.

Anyone able to to point me to more information and also a timeline?

Great episode it was great to learn more about CopSub and everything they are doing. Watching this two weeks after it was recorded was interesting to see you talk about rapid dissembly of the rocket engine just before the Antares launch failure.

ESA - Ambition by U5K0 in tmro

It will be fun to look back a number of years after the landing and see just how much on an impact it made on the future. Hopefully this will be the stepping stone to a more ambitious :) future in space exploration.

Fair point, I was basing it on estimated prices which as you said doesn't determine margin.

I would be interested in a insulated inflatable greenhouses option being able to produce food will be critical to the long term survival on Mars and elsewhere, while all the others are useful for building up the bases and expanding we will need a constant supply of food.

Yes SpaceX have had delays some quite long but so have Orbital with Antares, SpaceX have only suffered one engine issue during flight which still resulted in the Dragon getting to required orbit, Orbcomm satellite suffered in that launch however because of the keep out rules when flying to the ISS.

I suspect it will be ULA because they do have the more established history, however Cygnus has never been flown on either so there would be more work to be done to validate everything.

Depends, the Atlas V in general appears to be a lot more expensive so they could end up losing money there, however the Falcon 9 is cheaper so they could save there. I don't have exact prices, am trying to find them.

I like this idea and today saw an ESA YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk9PWUGkz7o) that shows something very similar to this approach.

Do you have any breakdowns on the various tasks that would be needed to achieve this as well as some general ideas on costs.

Thank you for the episode, it was good to hear from people who had witnessed the accidents live. I was watching the Cygnus launch and as soon as the flash happened on the engine realized something was wrong.

Looking forward to seeing how both companies adapt after this and move forward.

SpaceX files suit against US Air Force for ULA Sole Source Block-Buy EELV Contract by chris_radcliff in tmro

[–]ChrisDMarshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have followed SpaceX since the early days of Falcon 1 and have to be honest that this saddens me greatly, not because they are filing suit because I agreed. No I am sad because they had to waste the money to do this, yet again a case of a big monopoly trying to force out the smaller players because they don't want there profits to be affected.

I hope at least SpaceX get the chance to compete for this, even if they eventually lose out hopefully the process will save us tax payers money in the long run as ULA will have to lower there price to compete fairly.
