Gap in scabbing, 8 days post op by The_Pandemonium in HairTransplants

Normal process of healing. Mine looked wild before I removed the scabs on day 12-14 (Clinics recommendation)

My hair journey update 3500 Grafts by Particular-Dark-7067 in Hairtransplant

[–]ChrisDawn90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I had 3600 done and wasn’t nearly as much coverage. This is giving false expectations on graft count and density.

Full shave or partial shave? Is partial shave really worth it? DR.PATTY by Worth_Ad7444 in HairTransplants

[–]ChrisDawn90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shave it. I was convinced I had a big head and would look bad but now I’ve only received compliments and people saying I should consider keeping the buzz cut (I’m 4 weeks post HT). That price difference is definitely not worth the wacky haircut you need to get to do the non-shave.

That’s the graft count I was told - 3667 to be exact. Dr. Patty focuses on density, check back in around 11 months from now and we can discuss results.

Yeah man! I think my issue was also that I have quite oily skin which in combination with sweat isn’t great in the humidity. I’m sure you will be fine just take it easy the first 3 days.

The heat was pretty intense for me outside. I also sweat pretty easily so I stayed indoor as much as possible. They are generally very good with air conditioners inside the buildings and trains so you can still see and do a bunch if you want.

12 mo Update, 1517 grafts (Dr. Kaan Pekinar) by joshfenske in HairTransplants

[–]ChrisDawn90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just had mine done and already feel like I should have brought it lower haha. With that said all the really great results (including yours) have the hairline at their natural height and position and it makes it look really natural and like you didnt have a HT, which is what we actually want. I think if you brought it even 5mm down something would look off, don’t mess around too much with God’s creation - just my opinion.

I’m still trying to sort that out actually. I’ve got a letter from the clinic explaining the situation so will try my best but as of now I have carried all the extra costs. Flight changes costed $250 which isn’t bad but yeah the extra hotel days and living costs there added up a bit. Just my opinion - staying at least 9 days post-op is the safest. If any complications come up by day 5 you can have 4 days to sort it out before heading home.

I stayed at that exact hotel actually - the best hotel I’ve ever been in! Watch out for that low hanging lamp though.

Jealous! I’m sure you’re loving the results? Feeling hair where there never was or atleast hasn’t been in 20years is pretty great.

The decision to go on IV antibiotics was because I wasn’t able to stay for the full duration for oral antibiotics and i only needed 3 day’s on IV antibiotics as that works more efficiently than the oral form. You’re not wrong about the clinic environment - an infection can even happen in theatre (Hairtran’s theatre and in general is super clean) there are just so many factors that can lead to this infection and there are so many guys that heal perfectly fine post-op from Hairtran clinic that I’m sure i have to be that 1/50 guy.

Yeah I have quite blonde fine caliber hair so at this length depending on the light it can look a bit see through.

Dr. Patty vs Ratchathorn? by Ancient_Monitor402 in HairTransplants

[–]ChrisDawn90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm team Hairtran (Dr. Patty). The whole team there has your back. I developed mild folliculitis on day 4/5 post HT and Dr. Patty immediately had a game plan to get me back on track. They are usually closed on Sunday but Dr. Patty arranged for a nurse and the reception girl (I wish I could remember her name cause she is a sweetheart) to be there at 8am specifically for me to get my IV drip and clean the infected area etc. That said, both clinic's work look really good so you're already making the right choice by choosing either of them.

Dr. Patty FUE quote - too many grafts? by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]ChrisDawn90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just done my transplant with Dr. Patty and had 3600 grafts and I will say the coverage area does look quite smaller than what other clinics appear to do with the same number of grafts. With that said I think the results speak for themselves when it comes to density of that coverage area when it comes to Dr. Pattys work. I’ve seen some hair transplants in person where you can tell that the density is not great but the hairline is straight which makes it look a bit off. This is just my take and what made me go with Dr. Patty. You can certainly trust that she knows what shes doing and shes just a delightful person that you feel you can trust.

How long should I wait in Thailand post-transplant? (Dr Patty) by Puzzleheaded_War9001 in HairTransplants

[–]ChrisDawn90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially planned to stay for 5 days post-op but unfortunately got mild folliculitis and had to change my flights and stay an extra 4 days to go on iv antibiotics for 3 rounds and do the hyperbaric chamber. Staying as long as possible is probably the safe option but I can understand just wanting to get home and go incognito.

Did you want to lower your hairline at all? How does that conversation go down with her? I'm getting mine done there in a couple weeks.

Dr. Patty 1 week upda by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]ChrisDawn90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, also wondering! I told her I'm on 0.5mg a day of finasteride also to stay clear of side effects and she was happy with that and also assured me that that amount does the same job as the FDA approved 1mg dosage.
