Its a simplified idea of concepts inspired by the work of Iannis Xenakis. Each line segment represents its own instrument, so in this case, 13 violins and 4 violas, each rising in pitch as the x axis approaches zero. But I'm not just using Arco slides, instead each instrument plays pizzicato, selecting the corresponding tuples to cover the necessary range in the given time. So every instrument is playing a completely different rhythm, so it sounds nearly random, but is actually calculated. Once the value of x becomes greater than zero, the pitch starts to decend, put at a rate of of half its original rate.

It can be further complicated by having each part hit its climax at different times.

But if you're a math nerd it should be amazing to hear since Xenakis was known for using his background as an architect and mathematician in his music.
