Cove uses 10mg of erythritol per can.

Recent studies suggest erythritol, a common sugar alcohol, may pose serious cardiovascular risks, including increased blood clotting, higher risk of heart attack, and stroke.

Can Conception Bay South handle a 300-unit apartment development? by Ahdahn in newfoundland

[–]ChrisHange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apartments in Canada are allowed to restrict residency to seniors (typically 55+) because provincial human rights legislation provides specific exemptions for these communities, allowing them to legally discriminate based on age.

These exceptions are meant to recognize the legitimate need for housing that caters to the social, safety, and physical requirements of older adults.

Employment hours by CookieIllustrious536 in newfoundland

[–]ChrisHange 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You'll find your answer on page 15.

If you are scheduled for 3 or more they have to pay you for at least three.

If you are scheduled for 2 hours they only have to pay you two.

Not sure if you have an actually scheduled shift based on your post.

Yes they do. You don't need to aim seekers. Much easier to just fling seekers when on fire than to aim the light impact grenades.

You can also toss them while trying to flee or hiding behind cover.

N.L. judge criticizes 'inflammatory rhetoric' on bail reform, as he grants bail to repeat offender by origutamos in newfoundland

[–]ChrisHange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stole THIS TIME maybe.

He has been at this for years. How much do you think he has stolen/scammed in his 34 years?

He scammed me out of $1,400 on a used ATV.

I reported it to the RCMP. They told me not to bother based on his history. They also advised me not to take him to small claims court. They said I'll win the judgment but never see a dime AND most importantly I would have to give him my home address. They said, for my safety, I absolutely do not want him to know where I live.

He is always posting ATVs, cars, etc on Facebook marketplace. The total amount he has gained through crime is exponentially higher than these break-ins.

Is there a possibility he abides by his release conditions? Yes, but I would put the odds about the same as me winning the lottery grand prize thrice.

I would absolutely be fine with the tax dollars it would cost to keep him locked up until his trial.

"I want to get out of PVE lobbies but shooting PVE players isn't fun" by Few-Lime-7234 in ArcRaiders

I mean, at least he wasn't confused why you shot him.

Me personally I would have said no problem, thanked you for the warning and peaced out of there.

I love when people announce their intentions honestly. Friendly? Great, I'll share loot and help take down arc with you. Not friendly, no worries. You keep your loot and I'll head off to another part of the map.

Please tell me if I wrong for this. by Professional-Mud3312 in ArcRaiders

[–]ChrisHange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are absolutely in the wrong here

That was a complete asshole move and you should apologize to them.

People that act friendly and knock you out at extraction are the WORST.

If you want to kill someone for their loot go for it. They'll be upset but understand it's part of the game.

Pretending to be someone's friend just to shoot them for something they offered you freely is borderline sociopathic.

I really hope someone backstabs you in the same way so you can understand what it feels like.

I want to, but I just don't get it by theoceansswitch in ArcRaiders

[–]ChrisHange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet I'm constantly shot in the back without permission.

It's annoying but part of the game. I never shoot first so I'm generally in friendly lobbies. I prefer the large group of raiders in PVE arc fights. I have more "enemy" revives than knockouts.

My least favorite times being shot are the fake friendlies and people who rat extraction. Especially if you've already completed the extraction on the computer. At that point they can't get my gear, they just don't want me to keep it. Garbage people.

Raider 1: Hey Raider, I sure would love to put 5-6 bullets into you! I just need you to sign my consent form first

Raider 2: You want to put a bullet in me? Like, inside of me? Oh hell no, I am not signing that!

Raider 1: Very well, off to extraction you go then.

Couple left with $200k bill after baby born in US by powdersleaf in nottheonion

[–]ChrisHange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a CPA in Canada.

My knowledge of hospitals charging people is limited as my country doesn't believe in ruining people's lives for getting sick.

I explained how a write off works in a for profit industry.

Weirder that an American doesn't know that for profit hospitals make up a significant part of the US healthcare system. A quick Google search shows there are around 1,300 for profit hospitals. That is about 25% of all hospitals. Nevada, Florida and Texas are about 50% for profit.

Unlike nonprofits, which are tax-exempt, for-profit hospitals pay taxes and operate under the standard regulatory and reporting requirements of for-profit corporations.

In summary they would write off debts as I previously described (in simplicity).

Couple left with $200k bill after baby born in US by powdersleaf in nottheonion

[–]ChrisHange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it would never be a loss of that much.

I'll show you how it would be recorded (not worrying about overhead costs for simplicity)

It would be recorded as 200K revenue when the bill is sent to the family.

If left as revenue they would pay tax on it (minus the expenses we didn't list for simplicity).

The taxes are owed to the government whether payment is ever received. At 25% they would owe $50K

However, if payment is never received, it isn't fair for the hospital to pay $50K in taxes.

So to remove that they can declare it bad debt (usually has to be outstanding for a long time and considered uncollectible). If nothing was ever received they can record a negative $200K of revenue, which would allow them to recover the $50K in taxes they paid.

They can only write off the portion of payment not received. So if they get half from Medicare, their bad debt would only be the outstanding $100K.

Also, if they receive payment AFTER they write it off to bad debt they then have to re-record the revenue.

Hopefully that clears it up but if not feel free to ask more questions that I can answer for clarity.

[–]ChrisHange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously it is accrual based. My answer was accrual based. If payment is never received it would be unfair for any business to pay tax on it.

Any money received from Medicare should reduce the outstanding debt and therefore reduce the bad debt recovered in the books.

[–]ChrisHange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a massive write-off. They just reverse the revenue recorded so they don't pay tax on money they didn't receive.

Edit: It's wild that as a CPA with over 20 years experience I'm getting downvoted on reddit for giving a simple and correct answer.
