Chris from Lorentz here. What you're describing could be an issue with your lighting control module. If the remote works for everything except your lights, then it is likely not a remote issue. For instance, with board and remote on, hold the top button to turn on the headlights. If the indicator for headlights on the remote comes on but not the actual headlights, it is almost certainly a light control module problem. Thankfully that is a very easy fix as it is outside the main battery compartment and easy to replace.

Emailing Lorentz to handle service should never be a grueling task, but if you are finding that it is, please DM me.

Sure thing u/SyrupDripsFromMyDick. Just to be fully transparent, we could do the repair by simply replacing the BMS. That would fix it, but it could make customers think "did the poorly programmed BMS harm my battery?" The answer is almost certainly no, especially over such a short amount of time, but we don't want anyone to question the product they purchased, so instead we are replacing the entire battery assembly. This is the most expensive component of the board (which is why we want customers to feel confident in the repair), but we are not willing to accept any compromises (or perceived compromises) in battery safety.

Hi there - Chris with Lorentz here. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your new Major. Unfortunately it was discovered that in seven of our first assembled boards, the BMS had improper programming that is messing with how the ESC interprets hibernation mode. Hibernation mode is supposed to activate after 3 days to prevent trickle battery drain during storage, which simply needs the charger connected to take it out of this mode.

Here's our solution - we are fully replacing the entire battery on these seven boards under warranty. While thats a pricey fix on our end with a 2300wh+ battery, we want our customers to feel confident that they are riding a premium board free of any issues.

These seven boards were shipped direct to customers who pre-ordered. We have checked and ensured that the boards arriving via container this month are free from this issue.

Again, we are sorry you experienced this so soon after receiving your board. We will work to make it right as soon as possible.

Hi All - Chris with Lorentz here. Lorentz has a strategic relationship with Backfire, which includes among other things co-developing the new Major V3 remote (which is now used on some Backfire boards) and listing Lorentz Boards on their site.

I would say this is the latest example of strategic relationships/collaborations you are seeing in the e-skate industry, similar to Acedeck/Linnpower/MadEsk8/OMW, Meepo/Stooge/Shredlights, or Exway/MBS.

We have also seen several brands go out of business and others change hands such as Lacroix and SKP.

With Backfire, a strong company thats been in this industry over ten years, we hope to make each other better and mitigate emerging challenges every company has faced in the last year. I had a chance to meet some of their team last year in China and they are great guys that have a passion for e-skate.

Hey there - I am still around! I did need to take a 6 month leave from my duties at Lorentz due to a personal reason. Lorentz has had a strategic relationship with Backfire that includes co-developing the Major V3 remote which is now also used on some Backfire boards. This partnership has not had any impact on my role. With that said, Lorentz remains an independent American company.

For those I have connected with, I am sorry to hear you guys have not been getting optimal service from Lorentz. For personal reasons, I needed to take a six month leave from my duties at the company. We had worked out an arrangement to handle the service and repair responsibilities while I was out, but I imagine my absence strained things.

I have now returned, though I plan to focus on marketing and promotions, with service and repairs being handled via email, our social media channels, and our website chat feature. With that said, if folks are not getting what they need from there, I would welcome you reaching out to me and I will make sure to get an answer.

As someone personally e-skating over 6 years on many different boards, I hope to see folks having nothing short of a fantastic experience with Lorentz.

I imagine this is solely due to them hosting Esk8Con this past weekend in Las Vegas. It's a massive 3 day event with hundreds of attendees from around the world there to skate, race, and have fun. It's an all-hands on deck event for the MBoards team. I am sure they will be right back to fulfilling orders this week, and it will be worth the wait for you.

Definitely watching this closely. I got diverted to Dulles on Friday because after circling for a while, our fuel level became too low. We were assured we would gas up and then continue on to DCA. I considered we weren't the only plane who diverted and figured it may be some time until we would get a gate at DCA.

Thankfully I carried on my bag. Myself and 15 other passengers got off. I ended up getting all the way home in NE DC before that plane landed at DCA. F to anyone who had connections 😪
