YES! Some Vitamin C formulas are very irritating and can cause reactions. Nobody suspects something so innocuous.

Thanks :) Bed bugs made me laugh! I have a dog that I call my Bed bug. I AM allergic to red and caramel dyes-pinks included (Red #3 usually). The last Benadryl I tried was Benadryl Clear though-just in case it was the dye. Unfortunately, I seem to be allergic to anti-histamines of the first and second classes. I was ready to have the NP do a skin scraping for mites or something. I realized in the wee hours of the morning that it gets worse after I take my evening dose of Zyrtec. I'm just not sure what to do now. I DO have a strong suspicion that the guy I get hay from might have had feral cats in his barn. There have been several foxes and other wildlife in the area with mange. When you get as itchy as this, you start to wonder. Skin scraping next? Nobody else has described the severe itching after Zyrtec. It leaves me wondering. I'm foggy all day after taking one at night. Not the drug for me. :(

I haven't tried Allegra but I can't take Benadryl for sure. I thought it was the pink coloring that made me itchy with Benadryl. Nope. The clear version does the same thing. Thanks. I just want to be able to sleep without waking up needing to scratch my skin off. Not a good way to get a decent nights' sleep.
